It's a shame that only four teams out of Region 6 will make the state playoffs, by far and away the strongest group in the classification. St. Francis has played a grueling schedule, both in and out of the Region. [player_tooltip player_id='1501752' first='Reynolds' last='Escher'] is quickly becoming one of the better sophomore point guards in Georgia, a savvy playmaker and efficient scorer averaging 16.9 points, 7 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.6 steals. Sophomore Greg Howard pitches in 12.8 points per game while 6-foot-6 senior Chris Phillips provides 11.8 points and 8.3 rebounds. The Knights have a chance to play spoiler if they can knock off King's Ridge in back-to-back games to make it to state in the four vs. five game of the region tournament.

The Wolverines' record is a bit deceiving, playing much better since getting their football players off the gridiron. For Class A D-I program, Prince Avenue has played a fairly strong schedule considering their pocket of the state. 6-foot-5 senior Robert Skaggs is a solid post presence, capable of playing above the rim. Josh Britt has been a reliable scorer while three-star junior quarterback Aaron Philo is a dangerous three-point shooter with an unorthodox release.

Swainsboro lost to Prince Avenue in the football state championship and has had equal success once getting their players off the football field, winning seven of their last 10 games. The Tigers always have athletes, part of a balanced attack. 6-foot-1 junior Demello Jones is a four-star athlete, an aggressive rebounder and defender that plays bigger than his size. Senior Jayvis Woods, freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2425858' first='LJ' last='Morgan'] and sophomore Carmelo Lewis play significant roles. Junior linebacker Jerrod Steward brings more toughness to the interior.
