Give credit to Adairsville, they played hands down the toughest non-region schedule out of Region 6 losing to five ranked opponents. A signature win isn’t on the docket, missing out on their limited chances but they did split with Sonoraville and have a chance to avenge 58-55 loss to Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe today. The Tigers feel like the most complete team in the region, the most battle-tested and have the star power to match up with anyone in Tre Winters Tre Winters 6'5" | SG Adairsville | 2025 State GA , a do-everything sophomore swingman. Zach Postell is a steady junior with a lethal three-point shot and subtle quickness downhill. Tayshaun Jackson stretches the floor while Xavious Nalls provides athleticism on the wing. It is an all-out necessity to capture the region championship which would give them a near Bye into the Sweet 16 as the one-seed would play winless Carver-Atlanta in the first round of state, coming out of the four-team Region 5.
Groves (13-9)
Notable Wins: Beach by 2, Calvary Day by 28
Notable Losses: Hiram by 26, Savannah by 4, Calvary Day by 5, Johnson 2x, King’s Ridge by 31, Beach by 22
Groves isn’t nearly as talented as last year’s Elite 8 team, but Coach Kevin Evans is one of the best young coaches in the state, getting the absolute maximum out of his roster as his players are willing to run through a brick wall for him. The Rebels will press the entirety of the game to wear down opponents and make them uncomfortable. Region 3 has become a powerhouse with Beach and Johnson at the top of the standings and near the top of the state rankings. Groves’ wins over Beach and most recently Calvary Day are significant Top 10 victories. You can’t key in on one Rebel to stop as it’s a balanced cast. Khari Manning, JaQuawn Singleton, Ty Chisholm, Phil Bing, Sidney Flaggs Sidney Flaggs 6'0" | PG Groves | 2024 State GA and Kenyae Williams are all catalysts. Carshik Hall is one of the team’s biggest players at 6-foot-4, a high-energy rebounder and defender.
Gilmer (15-7)

Gilmer has a 7-footer and you don’t. Jackson McVey Jackson McVey 7'1" | C Gilmer | 2025 State #192 Nation GA has emerged as one of the top posts in Georgia’s 2025 class, not just because of his elite size but his well-rounded skill set. He’s a game-changer with his shot blocking and is a deft low block scorer that can also stretch the floor. Gilmer has impressive length on the perimeter as well with 6-foot-6 junior Kohan Davis and 6-foot-4 junior Ryder Wofford. Will Kiker and Noah Ballew are experienced backcourt members. The Bobcats could be a tricky first-round matchup for whoever they see out of Region 8.
