<p>The Mountaineers have an explosive offense and aren't shy in running up the score, their season-high 116 in a 66-point win and have scored over 80 points 12 times including 90-plus six times. Junior Judson Petty, sophomore Skyler Williams, junior Isaiah Morrison and senior Zavon McDade lead a balanced scoring attack that netted 19 threes against Gordon Central. The Mountaineers haven't played much competition outside of the region but don't be surprised if North Murray makes a run into the Sweet 16.<br></p>

<p>The Warriors haven't run away from competition in Coach Quaysean Davis' first year on the job. Battle Creek has struggled at times in close games, but they are always in it. The Warriors lost two-heart breakers to Top 10 ranked Windsor Forest by a combined five points while they took Class A D-II No. 2 Christian Heritage into overtime. [player_tooltip player_id='1589708' first='Nook' last='Prigeon'] is a savvy veteran that averages 17.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.4 steals per game. He's a crafty scorer with a smooth mid-range game. Prigeon leads a senior-laden group that features a top six that all graduates this year. The Warriors don't have a ton of size, but Shavar Carter is an invaluable undersized forward that puts up 9.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2 assists and 1.7 steals per game while Jeremiah Mayner is second in command in the backcourt, netting 11.7 points per contest.</p>

<p>The Panthers can be up and down, but have upside with a talented young backcourt headlined by sophomores [player_tooltip player_id='1611592' first='Jude' last='Ellis'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1444783' first='Houston' last='Henry'] along with Maddox Young. Inside, 6-foot-4 senior Eli Underwood has emerged as a workhorse his final season, helping balance the Panthers on offense with his toughness in the paint. Union County has proven to be strong at home, recording an 8-2 mark. Region 8 could be a wild tournament with Providence Christian the favorite, but Athens Academy and Banks County closing the gap alongside Union.</p>
