Top Performers: Marian Catholic vs De La Salle

Thursday night was senior night at Marian Catholic as they sent off three key seniors with a win in their final home game.  It was a tight game early, Marian stretched the lead, and De La Salle made it interesting in the early part of the fourth quarter.  In the end Marian Catholic got the win 50-42.  We examine this one in Top Performers: Marian Catholic vs De La Salle!

Quentin Jones Quentin Jones 6'5" | SG Marian Catholic | 2023 State IL (Marian Catholic – 2023)

The Cal Poly commit came out throwing flames right from the jump.  Well built wing that had his feathery jumper going from 15-18 feet pulling up with ease over and over again getting elevation off the floor and rising over defenders.  Also hit a three behind a ball screen.  In the second half he showed burst off the bounce using his strength to finish through contact as he had 19 points.

Donovan Juzang Donovan Juzang 6'3" | SG Marian Catholic | 2023 State IL (Marian Catholic – 2023)

Juzang is a prospect that has really grown on us this season.  Versatile guard that does a little bit of everything.  Offensively he is at his best operating in the open floor getting to the cup for acrobatic layups.  Solid pull up game and shoots it well from the line as he had 10 points.  Great small college two guard!

Tre Davis Tre Davis 5'10" | PG Marian Catholic | 2023 State IL (Marian Catholic – 2023)

Davis is a scoring point guard that makes solid decisions with the ball in his hands as a distributor.  In this game hit a pair of threes off the catch, found his teammates in positions to succeed, and had a sweet reverse and-1 for 9 points.

Zack Sharkey (Marian Catholic – 2025)

Sharkey put his name on our radar knocking in a pair of threes.  The two guard has sound form and a quick release as he had 6 points.

Evan Jackson Evan Jackson 6'7" | SF De La Salle Institute | 2023 State IL (De La Salle – 2023)

Jackson showed why he should be garnering more interest at the D2 level in this contest.  The small forward has legit size and when he is shooting like he was on Thursday he is a tough cover.  Repeatedly he created space and rose up for mid-range jumpers.  Such a fluid shot with a high release.  Also crashed the offensive boards and hit a three late in a 15 point outing.

Richard Lindsey Richard Lindsey 6'5" | SF De La Salle | 2024 State IL (De La Salle – 2024)

Lindsey kept De La Salle in the game during the second half.  Like what he showed as an all-around player with the ball in his hands.  Was able to create for himself and others off the bounce with his crisp passing and nifty finishes around the hoop.  Solid athlete that has potential as a shooter.  Best play was cutting a passing lane for a steal followed by a big dunk.  He scored 14 points.
