Adkins had a huge game at Flyin To The Hoop which really showed what he’s capable of. Scoring over 20 points on nationally ranked So Cal Academy on excellent efficiency was eye opening for myself. Adkins also had a game winner against ISA in a battle of two of the top prep programs in northeast Ohio. Currently holding zero offers, it’ll be interesting to see who tries to scoop Adkins up in the next few months. Adkins should be on low major and Division II recruiting boards not only in the Midwest but also closer to his home state, which is Texas.
Burnett is an impressive outside shooter who also showed good touch on mid-range and floater shots for Spire when I watched him play. Another prospect coming from the south up to Ohio at a prep program, Burnett played with the Atlanta Celtics on the Adidas circuit in the summer. Burnett is another prep prospect who is still available and should be getting heavy interest from scholarship programs.
Norton was a standout at the Prep Hoops 250 Expo and has continued that with an impressive senior high school season. His most impressive outing that I saw came at Flyin To the Hoop when he caught fire from downtown. Norton followed that up with 47 points against Withrow on senior night to go above 1,000 career varsity points. Norton is trending up and could be making another jump in our final rankings that will come out after the state tournament. Very high on Division III recruiting boards, Norton should also be getting heavy scholarship interest based off his play over the past month.
Highlights
Another prep prospect, Murphy is a big time shooter for ISA. I was impressed with his quick release and range on his jumper, confident up to 25 feet away from the basket. I also thought Murphy made some impressive passes off the bounce when the defense ran him off the line. A shooting specialist for small college programs to check out.
A super athlete, Ivery has had some highlight reel dunks in his senior season at Gahanna. Capable of putting a dunk on a rim protectors head, Ivery isn’t afraid to challenge guys at the rim. Ivery recently picked up an offer from both Wilberforce and Hocking College. After an impressive summer with All Ohio Select, Ivery has picked up where he left off with his return to the OHSAA at Gahanna this season.
