The host Tampa Catholic Crusaders (18-10) pulled away with a 76-54 win over the visiting Gateway Charter Griffins (23-6) from Fort Myers.
The 6-1 senior point guard finished with a game-high 22 points including a pair of 3-pointers, the day after picking up an offer from Florida Southwestern State College. Johnson was doing most of his work inside and earning trips to the free throw line, where he knocked down four of his six free throws.
The 6-7 sophomore power forward showed huge upside with his inside game tonight, adding 15 points and 9 rebounds in tonight’s 76-54 loss to Tampa Catholic. He was very active on the glass in the second half limiting any second chance opportunities.
The 6-6 junior shooting guard found his shooting touch in the second quarter, scoring 12 of his team-best 18 points in tonight’s 76-54 win over Gateway Charter. Knox knocked down a pair of 3-pointers including one to beat the first half buzzer to give the host Crusaders a comfortable 21-point lead at the half.
The 6-0 junior combo guard caught fire in the opening quarter, scoring all 12 of his points in the first eight minutes on 4-of-5 shooting from beyond the arc. He was also stellar at finding open teammates getting them involved in the action, including a few lobs to Karter Knox Karter Knox 6’6″ | SG Tampa Catholic | 2024 #6 Nation GA in the third quarter to balloon their lead.
The 6-0 sophomore combo guard got involved in the action early hitting 3 first half three pointers scoring 13 of his 15 points in the first half. Campbell-Finch was playing aggressive on both ends of the floor limiting very little second chance opportunities for Gateway Charter.
