The tournament was held at Mineral Area College in Park Hills. In the first game, Park Hills Central defeated Valle. In the second semifinal, Ste. Genevieve defeated Potosi. Here is a look at the top standouts from the semifinal games.
Jobe Bryant Jobe Bryant 6'0" | PG Park Hills Central | 2024 State MO (Park Hills Central): The 6’0″ 2024 point is the most dominant player in the Mineral Area. He scored 24 points in the semifinal victory over Valle. He got into the lane whenever he wanted and he also displayed his elite passing skills. He knows his teammates are open before they know they are open. He is an excellent finisher in the lane as he can goes through the contact.
Kendall Horton (Park Hills Central): A 6’2″ 2024 wing who gets a lot of things done with his pure hustle and energy. He was moving without the ball well to score on cuts, crashing the offensive boards for putbacks and diving out of bounds to save loose balls. He also operated very well in the high post against a zone defense where he can put it on the floor and hit the jumper.
Caleb Fly (Ste. Genevieve): A 6’4″ 2023 forward who was a force inside against Potosi the semifinals. He scored a game high 24 points, with most coming in the second half. He has good strength and athleticism and he was real active in the paint as a scorer and rebounder. His footwork was good and he finished well inside. He was in such a groove that he stepped out and hit a 3-pointer.
Harry Oliver (Valle): A 6’3″ 2023 forward who scored 17 points in the semifinals against Park Hills Central. He was very good when he would set up at the high post, where he could beat a defender off the dribble or hit the jumper. He has a some moves in the post with footwork and head fakes to keep defenders off balance.
Ricky Hunter Ricky Hunter 5'11" | CG Ste. Genevieve | 2023 State MO (Ste. Genevieve): A 5’10” 2023 point guard who displayed some toughness in the Dragons victory over Potosi. In the first half, he scored two points and had to leave the game with a twisted ankle. He came back in the second half and scored 11 points and unleashed a flurry of 3-pointers, which he is one of the best in the area at doing.
Gabe Brawley (Potosi): A 5’10” 2024 guard who scored 19 points Ste. Genevieve in the semifinals. He has good handles and he knows how to get to his spots on the floor. He works the pick-and-roll very well and he can get all the way in the lane to score and he also hits the pull up jumper.
Mason Williams Mason Williams 6'1" | PG Park Hills Central | 2023 State MO (Park Hills Central): A 6’1″ 2023 guard who is a very good all-purpose performer for the Rebels. He is an excellent athlete who does multiple things to help his team win. He rebounds and defends very well and he is an excellent finisher when he’s slashing to the basket or getting out in transition.
Tucker Reed (Ste. Genevieve): A 6’2″ 2023 forward who was very solid in all facets of the game. When he got the ball inside, he was able to finish very well. He was hitting the boards hard and he also blocked a couple of shots. He’s strong and he played with a lot of energy.
Chase Fallert (Valle): A 5’8″ 2023 point guard who can run the show and get a bucket as well. He distributes the ball very well. He did a nice job threading the needle on a couple of passes that were really nice. He stays low on the dribble to battle pressure defense. He can also knock down the open 3-pointer.
