It is officially almost time for Indiana High School Basketball to enter into the most exciting time of year. We have made it through over three months of regular season action and now culminate with a win-or-go-home state tournament. Here at Prep Hoops Indiana our staff will be previewing all 64 sectionals around the state over the next several days. Let's dive on in with Sectionals 29-32 which feed into the Washington Regional.

Sectional 29: Greensburg

The Teams: Rushville, Franklin County, Lawrenceburg, Connersville, Greensburg, South Dearborn, Batesville

The Contenders: Batesville, Lawrenceburg, Connersville, Greensburg, South Dearborn

Players to Watch: [player_tooltip player_id='1578456' first='Quentin' last='Cain'] (Rushville, 2023), [player_tooltip player_id='1297007' first='Cooper' last='Bobo'] (Lawrenceburg, 2025), [player_tooltip player_id='1295370' first='Josh' last='Williams'] (Connersville, 2023), [player_tooltip player_id='1578435' first='Lucas' last='Barron'] (Connersville - Hanover commit, 2023), [player_tooltip player_id='1160678' first='Ki' last='Dyer'] (Greensburg, 2023), [player_tooltip player_id='1495782' first='Jeter' last='Edwards'] (Greensburg - Goshen commit, 2023)

Prediction: Sectional 30 has the makings of being just a tough, grind-it-out tournament. Realistically, you could see 5 of the 7 teams winning this one. Batesville received by far the best draw with the bye and then is guaranteed to play 1 of the 2 worst teams in this Sectional, Rushville or Franklin County. So, by that math, Batesville gets a cakewalk to the final game. The other side of the bracket is where it gets tough to project with Lawrenceburg vs Connersville and Greensburg and South Dearborn. Each team can make a case as winning this but I like Greensburg and Connersville to meet up in the semis with a shocking upset win by Greensburg. This game was very close earlier this season with Connersville just barely escaping. I think Greensburg not only gets revenge on Connersville, but takes care of business vs Batesville. The squad of [player_tooltip player_id='1160678' first='Ki' last='Dyer'], [player_tooltip player_id='1495782' first='Jeter' last='Edwards'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1158211' first='Addison' last='Barnes-Pettit'] is no joke and could make a deep run here.

Sectional 30: Charlestown

The Teams: North Harrison, Corydon Central, Madison, Scottsburg, Charlestown, Silver Creek, Salem

The Contenders: Scottsburg, Corydon Central, Silver Creek

Players to Watch: [player_tooltip player_id='1139498' first='Kaleb' last='Kellems'] (North Harrison, 2023), [player_tooltip player_id='1162772' first='Tyler' last='Fessel'] (Corydon Central, 2023), [player_tooltip player_id='1158235' first='Cameron' last='Freed'] (Corydon Central, 2024), [player_tooltip player_id='1578484' first='Wyatt' last='Zellers'] (Scottsburg, 2024), [player_tooltip player_id='1276470' first='Jack' last='Miller'] (Scottsburg, 2024), [player_tooltip player_id='868258' first='Kaden' last='Oliver'] (Silver Creek, 2023), [player_tooltip player_id='1275752' first='Kyle' last='Roberts'] (Silver Creek, 2024), [player_tooltip player_id='1385611' first='Kasen' last='Daeger'] (Silver Creek, 2026),

Prediction: The best draw that came out of this one goes to Corydon Central, who is one of the best teams in Sectional 30, as the Panthers will only have to go through 9-11 North Harrison, and 1-20 Salem. The favorite, Scottsburg, got the best first round matchup having to play a 3-19 Madison team. Charlestown and Silver Creek are the other first round game and even though Charlestown is the host here, Silver Creek has got some underrated pieces to their team led by energetic senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='868258' first='Kaden' last='Oliver']. The potential Scottsburg and Silver Creek meeting could be much closer than last time but Scottsburg is still the better team. The championship game between Scottsburg and Corydon should be a great one, but Scottsburg gets the edge here. The Warriors have been one of the more consistent teams in 3A this season and have done much better than many had thought they would.

Sectional 31: Washington

The Teams: Southridge, Heritage Hills, Princeton, Vincennes Lincoln, Pike Central, North Daviess, Washington

The Contenders: Heritage Hills, Princeton, Pike Central, North Daviess, Washington

Players to Watch: [player_tooltip player_id='1049187' first='Marcus' last='Becher'] (Heritage Hills, 2023), [player_tooltip player_id='1297118' first='Trent' last='Sisley'] (Heritage Hills, 2025), [player_tooltip player_id='935727' first='Jaylen' last='Mullen'] (North Daviess - Oakland City commit, 2023), [player_tooltip player_id='1556399' first='Lance' last='Wilson'] (North Daviess, 2023), [player_tooltip player_id='1556400' first='Logan' last='Wilson'] (North Daviess, 2023)

Prediction: Honestly, this may be the Sectional at the 3A level most have their eyes on here. For one, you have one of the best players in the state in here with [player_tooltip player_id='1297118' first='Trent' last='Sisley'] and next, North Daviess, who bounced all the way up from 1A, is competing in their first Sectional at the 3A level. Yes those two storylines take over this Sectional, but teams like host Washington, Princeton, and Pike Central are capable of taking over the headlines here. If Sisley and Heritage Hills want to make it to the championship game, they will have to grind-it-out past a tough Southridge and Washington team. On the bottom side, North Daviess will have to earn it too getting wins over Pike Central and likely Princeton. In the end however, I do think we get the anticipated matchup between Heritage Hills and North Daviess in the Sectional 31 championship game. North Daviess is an extremely good team, but [player_tooltip player_id='935727' first='Jaylen' last='Mullen'] and squad have not faced a player like Sisley all season. The talented 2025 forward powers Heritage Hills to their first Sectional championship since the 2020-21 season.

Sectional 32: Boonville

The Teams: Boonville, Mount Vernon (Posey), Evansville Mater Dei, Evansville Bosse, Gibson Southern, Evansville Memorial

The Contenders: Evansville Bosse, Evansville Memorial

Players to Watch: [player_tooltip player_id='868261' first='Blake' last='Herdes'] (Evansville Mater Dei, 2023), [player_tooltip player_id='1158192' first='Taray' last='Howell'] (Evansville Bosse, 2024), [player_tooltip player_id='1557196' first='Blake' last='Anderson'] (Evansville Memorial, 2023), [player_tooltip player_id='1578479' first='Tucker' last='Tornatta'] (Evansville Memorial, 2024), [player_tooltip player_id='1539999' first='Luke' last='Ellspermann'] (Evansville Memorial, 2025), [player_tooltip player_id='1159224' first='Luke' last='Lawrence'] (Evansville Memorial, 2025)

Prediction: Sectional 32 could realistically see many different outcomes. The bracket is a little unbalanced with the likely contenders, Evansville Bosse and Evansville Memorial, on the same side. Gibson Southern got the bye in the top half and will likely play the host Boonville, who would have defeated Mount Vernon (Posey). After Evansville Bosse gets past Evansville Mater Dei in the first round, Bosse and Memorial will have their clash in the semifinal round in the bottom half of the bracket. The Bosse and Memorial should be as close as their last one with Memorial just escaping once again. In the championship game, I like Evansville Memorial to get a tough win over Boonville.
