Spivey and the Golden Eagles advance to the Quarterfinals with an opening round victory over Spartanburg Christian. Hudson does a little of everything for his squad if it comes to handling the rock up the floor, grabbing a rebound or simply scoring a basket. He’s very nimble with his footwork and really does a great job of passing the ball and finding teammates open at times.
Hudson has piled up the numbers on the hardwood and the football field over the years as a Quarterback for the Golden Eagles.
Johnson and the Eagles came to play today in an opening round victory over Greenwood Christian. Emekah was all over the glass on his way to scoring 26 points for Florence Christian. He really likes to play inside-out on the floor and has the ability to knockdown the perimeter jumper. Johnson played aggressive on both ends of the floor today and it really showed frustration in his opponent’s face.
Jones and the Falcons came out firing against Trinity Collegiate and never looked back in the opening round. Ellis provides great senior leadership in the backcourt. Ellis recently joined the 1,000 points club. Jones is very heady on the floor and understands good selection. He doesn’t look to force anything and really plays within the team concept for Head Coach Jay Reid.
Gray and the Chargers came to an end today with an opening round loss to Wilson Hall. Christian really has no position on the floor for the Chargers but he has to settle in playing the post. Gray an undersized post embraces his role on the floor and leaves it all out there at all times. Christian averaged 16.2 ppg and 7.6 rebounds for the Chargers this past season. He finished with 12 points in the loss to Wilson Hall this weekend.
Banks runs the show for the Griffins offense and Head Coach Gregg Nibert. Caleb plays the game under control at all times while on the floor. Banks connected on a handful of three pointers today when he wasn’t setting up his teammates for open looks. Caleb understands when to attack and when to pull it back out. Banks and the Griffins today won in the opening round over Orangeburg Prep 64-38.
Caleb scored 17 points today while connecting on 5 three pointers from behind the arc.
