Allderdice won its 2nd consecutive Pittsburgh City League title after making halftime adjustments and pulling away from a spirited Obama side, rolling to a 66-45 win. Who stood out?

The senior leader knew what needed to be done on the day and delivered the goods. An absolute pest in the press, his active hands forced turnovers and easy buckets. He was all over the floor--Literally--Anish was diving for loose balls with reckless abandon. He also led the Dragons in scoring with 16, hitting a handful of 3s along the way. Anish also had the quote of the press conference: “As a locker room, everybody is thinking of making a run to the state finals. Last year, it was iffy in that sense. Everybody wanted that goal. But this year, we've centralized that goal and everybody is 100% into that.”

For the second City League final in a row, Kelly went onto a college floor and delivered a college performance. He was fantastic attacking the basket and combined power moves with finesse to score 15 points. He hit the boards and boxed out well on defense and is one of the top all around players in the region for the Class of 2023.

[player_tooltip player_id='1187923' first='Major' last='Rainey']| F | Allderdice

We've said it multiple times that Rainey is an explosive slasher who gets to the rim and finishes with authority--a thought echoed by Kelly in the post-game press conference about how forceful Rainey's dunks are....Well, he got a pair of rim rattling throwdowns to bookend the dominating performance for the Dragons. He also blocked a handful of shots on defense. At 6'4", he'll likely project as a wing at the next level and as his shooting skills continue to expand beyond the arc, he'll become even more dangerous. He, Kelly and Anwtone Ward-Thurman dominated in the post all day, with the trio playing a fire-and-ice type game where Rainey and Kelly got above the rim and Ward was a beast under the basket and used that football mentality to own the paint at both ends and create chances for teammates on offense and defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1518798' first='Logan' last='Golle'] | G | Allderdice

Wrote it a few days ago that we could name the entire 'Dice starting lineup--well, now we have. While Anish drove the bus, the equally talented Golle turned in a nearly identical performance to the senior. The junior guard was equally active on defense, created turnovers and facilitated the offense to perfection. The chemistry between the pair is evident on and off the court. Golle finished with 14.

The 6'3" wing was one of the key reasons Obama hung around through the third quarter. A bit timid to release a shot at first, once he got the first made basket out of the way, it was full steam ahead. He showed a great all around game today--Ability to get to the rim and a fine release on his jumper, hitting a handful of 3s on his way to 18 points. He is part of a group of returnees that could push the Eagles on next year and also make them a tough out in the 5A Subregionals if he and [player_tooltip player_id='1186484' first='Xzavier' last='Rodgers'](15pts) can keep a hot hand. Freshman Naron Johnson also held his own on the big stage today and is one to watch.
