Koby Wilmoth Koby Wilmoth 6'8" | PF O'Fallon | 2023 State IL (O’Fallon – 2023)
It was a very successful couple days for Wilmoth as the O’Fallon big man definitely helped his stock with his play. Friday night he went for 25 points (10-14 FG) (3-6 3 PT) and 5 rebounds. Didn’t shoot it quite as well against Chaminade, but still managed 14 points (3-12 FG) and 7 rebounds. There is a lot to like here for high end small college programs and JUCOs where he could develop into more after a couple of years. Strong frame with touch and footwork around the hoop. Quick and confident moves down low. Can stretch the floor with his spot up shooting and is tough on the glass.
Bennett Briles Bennett Briles 6'9" | PF Nashville | 2023 State IL (Nashville – 2023)
Briles like Wilmoth is an under the radar 618 post prospect that definitely has a future at the next level. He has legit size and length. Like what he showcased as a spot up shooter knocking in 3-6 from beyond the arc. His ability to stretch the floor from both three and mid-range was what stood out the most. Mixed in some touch shots inside. He rebounded and showed some defensive prowess as well. Briles had 22 points (8-13 FG), 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks.
Colin Hayes Colin Hayes 6'6" | PF Bloomington Central Catholic | 2024 State IL (Bloomington Central Catholic – 2024)
Hayes started off a bit slow, but became a key factor in their comeback. The four man excelled on the offensive glass snatching 7 second chance boards with many leading to points. Got a couple of put backs of his own and showed good mobility around the hoop. Finished with 8 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals.
Austin Robinson Austin Robinson 6'4" | C Springfield Lanphier | 2023 State IL (Springfield Lanphier – 2023)
Robinson was the only solid performer from Lanphier in their loss. The undersized post was efficient with his touches getting to the line and scoring with crafty moves in the paint. Can also face up a little. Robinson had 9 points (3-5 FG). Small colleges and JUCO’s take a look.
Miles Rubin Miles Rubin 6'7" | PF Homewood Flossmoor | 2023 State #243 Nation IL (Simeon – 2023 – Loyola)
Bouncy power forward from Simeon showed off what he can do on the defensive end with a few sweet blocks against Vashon. His quickness off the floor defensively is so impressive. Offensively as usual it was tip ins, finishes out of the dunker spot, and playing off his athleticism inside as he went for 9 points (4-7 FG) and 4 blocks.
Wesley Rubin Wesley Rubin 6'7" | PF Homewood Flossmoor | 2023 State IL (Simeon – 2023 – Northern Iowa)
The UNI signee showcased his skilled offensive game in spurts including a pair of threes along with a sweet and-1 moves. Footwork and efficiency offensively is what makes him intriguing as a future standout in the MVC. Went for 9 points (3-5 FG) (2-2 3 PT).
Drew King (Joliet West – 2024)
King had a super tough assignment with Moore out for Joliet West. He was responsible for matching up with Michigan State star Booker inside. Yes, Booker went off, but King held his own. Long and lanky five man fought hard on the interior getting a put back and throwing down a big dunk. He gave Joliet West a presence down low scoring 4 points (2-2 FG) and 4 rebounds.
