Group 2 Under the Radar Prospects to Watch

Group 2 is one to watch with Camden being the favorite to repeat as Group 2 champions, while Manasquan, Haddonfield, South River and others look to make noise. Here are the under the radar Group 2 prospects who could have a big state tournament.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1389143' first='Griffin' last='Linstra'], 6'3 CG Manasquan 2025</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1411404' first='Darius' last='Adams']</strong> is the Warrriors' go-to guy on offense, but watch out for Linstra this postseason. The 6'3 guard moves well without the ball in his hands, making smart cuts to the basket to free himself for open layups. Linstra is rarely rattled by on-ball pressure and makes good decisions with the ball in his hands. He is a strong rebounder and is one of better on-ball defenders in the 2025 class. Linstra is a hard-working, two-way guard prospect who should have a big state tournament for Manasquan.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1434616' first='Evan' last='Colao'], 5'9 PG Madison 2025</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Colao has been hot for the Dodgers recently as he has scored at least 11 points in five of his last six games. The 5'9 guard uses his handle to get past his defender and finish around the rim. Colao is more than just a driver as he has a good release on his jumper and sets his feet before he shoots. He gets his teammates involved in the halfcourt and is an underrated defender. Colao's play recently is a reason why Madison has a chance to make a deep run in the Group 2 tournament.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2><strong>Rocco Chechetto, 6'0 G Caldwell 2023</strong> </h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Chechetto has been a reliable secondary scorer for the Chiefs as he failed to score 10 points in only three games this season. The 6'0 guard is a sharpshooter from distance as he has a good shooting form and can bury triples in bunches. Chechetto moves well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open layups and jumpers. He can run the offense in a pinch and is a solid rebounder. Caldwell is looking to avenge last season's loss in the sectional final and Chechetto's shooting is a key.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1773073' first='Michael' last='Stone'], 6'2 SG Ramsey 2023</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Rams are defending sectional Group 2 champions and Stone is looking to repeat in his senior season. The 6'2 guard has a clean shooting stroke as he wastes little motion and can get hot from deep in a hurry. Stone shoots the ball with confidence from behind the arc and sets his feet before he shoots. He is an underrated rebounder and moves his feet on defense. Stone is a marksman from deep and his ability to stretch the floor is key for Ramsey to repeat.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2><strong>Pat Ryan, 6'3 SF Haddonfield 2024</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Ryan is in the middle of a breakout season for the Bulldogs and is looking to carry it over into the Group 2 tournament. The 6'3 wing has a good handle, which he uses to get to the basket and finish. Ryan can also score in the mid-range and moves well within the flow of the offense. He is tough to boxout on both ends of the floor and makes plays on defense.
