Continue ReadingThe emergence of Jaydon Cole Jaydon Cole 6’2″ | SG King’s Ridge | 2025 State GA has been so crucial to King’s Ridge’s success. He’s a flat out shooter that strips the nets from well behind the line. His hot shooting propelled King’s Ridge to an early lead they would never let go of in a 69-60 First Round victory. Cole hit three first quarter threes and five for the game to pace a 12-three barrage. Social Circle face guarded Cole in the second half but the damage was already done, finishing with 17 points and 3 assists. Jaydon’s shot-making from the perimeter is impressive. With a large senior class heading out the door, expect Cole to put up some big scoring numbers next season. He’s a prospect on the rise.
Highlights
Hoover was like the vacuum cleaner, sucking up offensive rebounds in the first quarter. Micah eventually got in foul trouble and fouled out, limiting his time in the second half, but Hoover’s activity inside was key in keeping plays alive. He finished with 11 points, 10 rebounds and 1 steal, living at the line as he went 9-12 from the stripe. Micah holds multiple D-III offers.
King’s Ridge assisted on 17 field goals with Isaac Martin Isaac Martin 6’1″ | PG King’s Ridge Christian School | 2023 State GA leading the way, dishing out eight helpers to go along with his 11 points. I’ve said it enough about Martin, but I’ll say it again: his IQ and playmaking are among the best in Georgia. Isaac doesn’t wow you with his athleticism, but he sees plays unfold before others do and he rarely makes mistakes. The lefty has deep three-point range and is a crafty finisher at the rim. D-III schools are courting the floor general.
Jack Thomas Jack Thomas 6’6″ | SF King’s Ridge | 2023 State GA was great on Wednesday, primarily defensively. He did a superb job of defending LJ Jackson, beating him to spots and keeping him out of the lane without using his hands and fouling. Offensively, the lefty scored on a baseline cut, a layup, a three and a mid-range jumper. Thomas posted 9 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists. Jack has serious value at the next level with his size, athleticism and shooting touch. D-III schools and NAIA programs have offered.
Another guard holding NAIA and D-III offers, Thomas provides bulldog toughness in the backcourt. He uses his strength effectively on drives and when sneaking on the glass. Zak can score the ball off the dribble and off the catch. He is patient inside the arc and can score in traffic. Thomas is never one to get pushed around on defense, using his physicality to his advantage as he can help guard larger players. He tallied 11 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists.
Highlights
AJ Vinson AJ Vinson 6’6″ | C Social Circle | 2023 State GA was unstoppable for Social Circle. The Redskins played inside-out, force-feeding the Garden City football-commit as he pounded away for 19 points, 11 rebounds and 2 blocks. Vinson was overpowering, fouling out both of King’s Ridge’s top forwards including a 6-foot-10 shot blocker. Vinson is exceptional at using his body. He is so strong and has such wide shoulders, shot blockers can’t reach his shot and if they do, there’s no way they can reach around to pick up the rebound which leads to a ton of Vinson putbacks. The big fella scored on four offensive rebounds and had two And-1s. AJ has a soft touch with a short turnaround jumper and has a hook shot as well. The southpaw finished his high school career in dominant fashion.
LJ could never quite get going, but he still had some highlight plays, his most impressive a steal and breakaway dunk to start the fourth quarter as he ignited the home crowd. Jackson finished with 14 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 steal. The lefty is a multi-level scorer that uses his athleticism to his advantage. He’s been an impactful defender over the course of his career, using his quickness to get steals and finish in transition.
Dashon Hyman
Dashon Hyman
Hyman shot the best out of the Redskins, sinking three three-pointers as he tallied 15 points and 6 rebounds. He showed an ability to finish with both hands at the rim. In the second half he helped face guard Jaydon Cole Jaydon Cole 6’2″ | SG King’s Ridge | 2025 State GA , helping hold him to three points.
