Will Hughes, 5’11 G – BFA St. Albans Class of 2024
With Will, you get a ton of effort and skill altogether. He’s a gritty defender who relishes tough matchups and locking down opponents, and he can turn that defensive effort into offense real quick. On offense he’s a three-level scorer and facilitator who he doesn’t need the the ball in his hands to be effective because he spaces well and makes good use of his dribble. Hughes is scrappy, athletic, and high IQ. He leaves little to be desired.
Ronnie Riby-Williams, 5’11 G – Montpelier High School Class of 2023
Ronnie is one of the toughest perimeter defenders in the state, hands down. His combination of strength, athleticism, and footwork give ballhandlers a whole lot to handle both in the full court and half court setting. Moreover, he’s a sound decision maker with the ball in his hands. He reads the floor well and sees gaps, making him an adept slasher and heady passer. Most importantly, Riby-Williams plays HARD.
Xavier Hill, 5’11 G – Hazen High School Class of 2024
An offensive orchestrator and efficient scorer, Hill is critical to making this rugged Hazen crew run smoothly. Xavier is a smart passer in transition and sees advance passes early, plus he can pick apart defenses in the halfcourt with his balance of passing and scoring. Defensively he can defend 1-3, rotates crisply, and puts in full effort night in and night out. Xavier is steady and savvy.
Aidan Johnston, 6’6 F – Mount Mansfield Union High School Class of 2023
This kid really brings the energy. Aidan is a tenacious rebounder on both ends and he runs the floor hard, often getting out in front of his defender as he runs his lane. Moreover, Johnston can defend 3-5 with his length, footwork, and athleticism. His face-up game within 15-feet is crisp, his footwork in the post is all there, and his second jump is quick. Johnston is that Swiss-army knife type guy with who’ll give you 10-10 off of effort.
Mitchell Parkman, 6’0 G – Thetford Academy Class of 2024
Mitchell is that player who’s in every play, whether it’s a scrum for 50/50 ball, a rebound, or transition, you can bet Parkman is in the mix. He’s a gritty defender who plays just as hard on the ball as he does off ball, and once the ball changes possession he’s flying down court to finish the play. He’s a scoring threat within 15-feet, defends 1-3, and will give you everything he’s got in the tank.
Josh Brown, 6’3 W/F – Essex High School Class of 2023
An inside/out scorer and defender, Josh has interesting versatility. He’s a savvy scorer around the cup and in the mid-range, and if he locks in his deep-ball he’ll be a certified three-level scorer. Nonetheless, he’s highly effective with the ball in his hands, making smart decisions as he reads the D. Moreover, he’s a persistent rebounder and defends 2-4 with his strength, length, and physicality. Josh is steady, smart, and knows when to make a play.
Will Ameden, 6’4 W/F – Burr and Burton Academy Class of 2024
Ameden is a unique player. He’s a facilitator both from the post and the perimeter as he reads defenses and sees passing lanes develop intuitively. Furthermore, he can score at all three-levels with his sly handle, footwork, and change of pace. Will defends 3-5 with his stout frame and agility, plus he’s a pest in the passing lanes and a consistent glass cleaner. Ameden can be utilized in so many ways with his all-around game.
Joe Buxton, 6’3 W/F – Fair Haven Union High School Class of 2024
With the feel of the modern 4, Buxton comes with an inside/out repertoire. He’s a dynamic defender who gets after it in a full court press, locks in on the perimeter, and battles down low depending on matchups, while still getting work done on the glass. In addition, Joe spaces the floor well with his catch-and-shoot ability from 3. Plus, he can attack closeouts with decisive moves to the cup, finishing himself or feeding the open man. Joe does a little of everything.
