Running the court with No. 1 options like those listed above will be a group of prospects who contributed heavily for their varsity team this winter and will potentially play at the next level but they are not household names yet.
Today we want to highlight eight of these lesser-known District 1 athletes who are participating in the opening round of the tournament. That way when someone asks you, “What’s His Name?” you will know the answer.
Jon Clark – 6’3” / Senior / Upper Moreland / Kings Unlimited / Wing: This lengthy and versatile prospect plays downhill and can get into the paint for lay-ins or to kick out to the arc. Clark is also a dependable 3-point shooter. As a bonus, Clark can burn in a unique point-forward role.
Brady Fogle – 6’1” / Junior / Upper Dublin / Next Play Basketball / Combo Guard: Fogle is a knock down shooter who has carved out a solid role for himself as the 3rd option at UD. His high basketball IQ, court vision and crafty dribbles enable him to operate as a secondary ball handler too.
Sadiq Fountain – 5’10” / Senior / Penn Wood / BW Elite / Combo Guard: Fountain (9 ppg.) is an automatic 3-point shooter. Solid instincts, court awareness and constant off ball movement enable Fountain to find the spaces in a defense so he can get an open look.
Noah Griffin – 6’1” / Junior / Sun Valley / Combo Guard: An “old school” prospect who does the bulk of his scoring at the rim or in the mid-range, Griffin averaged 12 point per night this season for Sun Valley. On occasion he will let it fly from behind the arc.
Caleb Jameson Caleb Jameson 6'2" | CG Delaware County Christian | 2025 State PA – 6’1” / Sophomore / Delaware CCS / East Coast Power / Shooting Guard: In 2022-23 Jameson quietly became one of the most feared long-distance aces in District 1. Additionally, he has the height and physicality to play bully ball vs. smaller guards. Jameson was good for 12 ppg. and drilled 60 threes on the season.
Xavier Peters – 5’11” / Sophomore / Pennridge / PSB Philly / Combo Guard: Peters can get out in transition to score or distribute. In the half court he will splash triples. Plus, this quick guard is a lockdown defender who frequently produces steals / deflections.
Brian Weiner – 5’11” / Senior / Haverford / PSB Philly / Combo Guard: With opposing teams focused on stopping his teammate, Alex Seidman Alex Seidman 6'3" | SG Haverford | 2023 State PA (one of District 1’s elite scorers), Weiner has found tremendous success running as a No. 2 option. Weiner (11.6 ppg.) is a fantastic spot up 3-point shooter (40 3PM) and can play lead guard if needed.
Josh Young – 6’5” / Senior / Abington / Small Forward: Young is the Ghosts often under the radar “3 & D” role player. His watery jumper features textbook shooting mechanics. Young’s athleticism, high IQ, anticipation abilities and non-stop communication make him an excellent team defender.
