Luke Justice has been one of the best scorers in the state averaging just above 25 points per contest. Luke is a smooth lefty scorer who has beyond college range and plays with swagger on the court. He does a very good job of recognizing matchups and passing out of double teams to find open teammates. Luke has the ability to get hot and put up huge scoring performances like he did last playoffs leading Frederick to the final four. This year he will have a target on his back in these matchups as coaches must prepare for him as he’s one of the top scorers in Colorado.
Tucker Mills – Mead
Tucker Mills is a lengthy wing who has recently committed to play at the University of Nebraska Omaha after high school. Tucker is a smooth scorer with the ball in his hands, using his size to his advantage and finding mismatches. He is a solid scorer from mid to low post as he has a high release on his turn-around jumper. Tucker is a solid scorer around the rim, moving smoothly to the bucket to finish with a soft touch.
Kaleb Ferguson – Montrose
Kaleb Ferguson is a 6’5 forward, sophomore who does a solid job banging down low. Kaleb is a player who sticks to his role and is very good at it. He is active on the offensive glass creating second-chance opportunities for himself. Kaleb does not do anything too flashy but uses sound footwork around the rim to finish at the basket. He is not a knockdown shooter but has a solid mid-range shot that he can go to, to catch defenses off guard.
Noah Wilhelm & Carson Keach – Ponderosa
Noah Wilhelm and Carson Keach make up one of the best guard duos in 5A due to their ability to play off of each other. On the defensive end, Carson does a good job matching up with taller players and holding his own due to his good physicality and quick hands; Noah has good instincts jumping passing lanes allowing him to start fastbreaks. Noah has been lethal on the offensive end due to his knockdown jumper and improved ability to score around the rim. Carson has a smooth mid-range pull-up jumper he often goes to as he can shoot it over smaller guards. I am very interested to see how this team does as they are in the toughest league of anyone in 5A.
Brady Kennison – Thompson Valley
Brady Kennison has had a huge stock-boosting season averaging over 20 points per game. Brady plays with a toughness on the floor that many guards do not possess. On the defensive end, he is a scrappy on-ball defender and does a good job of speeding up opponents. Brady has improved his shooting off of the dribble and is especially good at getting to his mid-range jumper. Brady is a tough guard who I imagine giving Ponderosa a hard time tomorrow.
