Here we examine the power forwards and centers that made the biggest jump in the rankings!
Jonah Funk Jonah Funk 6'9" | C El Paso Gridley | 2025 State IL (El Paso Gridley)
Previous Ranking: NR
Current Ranking: #7
Funk made the biggest debut in the rankings. He went from unranked to #7 in the class. It is pretty simple as we hadn’t seen him play at all prior to the Prep Hoops Top 250 Camp. The long and lanky 6’8” five man was in the conversation for MVP with his play as a shot blocker, rim runner, face up threat, and explosive finisher.
Daniel Pauliukonis Daniel Pauliukonis 6'8" | SF Benet | 2025 State IL (Benet)
Previous Ranking: NR
Current Ranking: #37
Ironically this 6’7” power forward played on the same team as Funk at the Top 250 Camp and also broke out. Very thin frame, but showed he could do work running the floor along with facing up where he put it on the deck on the regular. A lot of developmental potential here!
Alex Stell Alex Stell 6'9" | C Waterloo | 2025 State IL (Waterloo)
Previous Ranking: NR
Current Ranking: #38
Stell is a 6’9” big bodied five man that flew under the radar by not being seen on the circuit. He opened eyes in the fall at a Pure Sweat workout. He has feel and timing blocking shots on the defensive end. Area rebounder on both ends. Shows touch and quality footwork on the block as a low post scorer. Potential as a stretch five to be developed.
JT Pettigrew JT Pettigrew 6'8" | C Bolingbrook | 2025 State IL (Fenwick)
Previous Ranking: #56
Current Ranking: #39
This skilled five man is really starting to come on strong. Nice build and rebounds well in his area. Overall skilled player that passes it well for a big man and can stretch the floor with his shooting to mid-range.
Anton Strelnikov (Lake Zurich)
Previous Ranking: NR
Current Ranking: #41
This 6’6” post from Lake Zurich caught our attention at Pekin over the holidays. Extremely efficient player that has sound footwork, spin moves, and converts out of the dunker spot when his guards dish it to him.
