The St. Michael’s Horsemen were this year’s #1 seed in the 3A Boys State Tournament. They went 23-4 in the regular season this year after losing in the 3A State Championship game last year to Robertson. They have went on their revenger tour led by

2A:

Last season Pecos reached the 2A State Championship game and came up short vs Menaul. They returned nine seniors from their roster from last season and went 24-3 this year to lock up the #1 seed. They come into this tournament winning ten straight games as the hottest team in this tournament. Academy For Technology and the Classics received the #2 seed and went 23-6 in the regular season. It is very likely these two teams see each other in the 2A Boys State Championship Game next weekend.
1A:

The Magdalena Steers have won back to back state championships in 2021 and 2022 in the 1A Class. They went a perfect 28-0 in the regular season, 10-0 in district play and won their district tournament. They have won 74 of their previous 75 games over the past three seasons. D ‘Shaun Vinyard averaged 18.6 PPG this season as the team’s leading scorer. They are without a doubt the team to beat in this years state tournament as they try and make history going for a three-peat.
