A fiery competitor who routinely makes big plays on both ends of the floor, Figuereo had 19 points on 5-6 shooting (1-1 3P, 8-9 FT), 10 rebounds, and 4 steals in the Falcons win over Winfield-Mt. Union. He’s a quick guard who finishes through contact well around the rim, and he can put the ball on the floor and create shots for himself and his teammates. He’s a solid on-ball defender who moves his feet well and uses his quick hands and feet to make life difficult for opposing ball-handlers.
SG Parker Lau (West Burlington)
A tough lefty who moves well without the ball in his hands, Lau knocked down a few big 3-pointers in the Falcons win over Winfield-Mt. Union, finishing with 11 points on 4-6 shooting (2-3 3P), 3 rebounds, an assist, and a steal. He’s a smart guard who positions himself well on the defensive end and is a really good shooter off the catch.
SF Matt Schaeckenbach (City)
A long, scrappy wing with some toughness, Schaeckenbach contributed on both ends of the floor in the Little Hawks’ loss to West High, finishing with 8 points and 5 rebounds. He’s a tough defender who is willing to battle for position on that end of the floor, and a solid finisher around the bucket with his right hand. He uses his length and size as a rebounder well.
PG Nick Neuroth (Aplington-Parkersburg) (2024)
Neuroth battled some early foul trouble in the Falcons’ loss to Gladbrook-Reinbeck, but he still found a way to make an impact on the game. He’s a smart guard who handles it really well and his ability to control the flow of the game on the offensive end and get others involved has allowed some of A-P’s big-time scorers to operate more off the ball this year and open up the entire offense. He’s not going to be a player who posts huge stat lines frequently, more of a player whose impact will go beyond the box score and result in a lot of winning plays.
SG Isaac Clark (Gladbrook-Reinbeck) (2024)
A 6-2 off-ball guard who can get to the rim and knock down shots off the catch, Clark had 9 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists on 2-4 shooting (1-1 3P, 4-4 FT) in the Rebels win over A-P on Tuesday night. He finishes through contact around the rim and uses his length well on the defensive end, getting into passing lanes and turning defense into quick and easy offense.
PF Drew Eilers (Gladbrook-Reinbeck) (2025)
On a senior-laden Rebels team, Eilers is the lone sophomore who sees significant playing time, starting for this group and producing at a high level. A 6-3 power forward with soft hands and good touch around the bucket, he had 10 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 assists in their win over A-P. He carves out good position in the paint, burying his defender and making quick decisions with the ball.
C Samuel Mbingazo (City) (2026)
Mbingazo has a chance to be one of the most recruited players in the state over the next three years. A bouncy 6-10 big man with great length, he’s really raw as an all-around player, but he has an intriguing blend of size and athleticism. He showed a little bit of ball-handling and court vision, as well as some decent footwork that will continue to be smoothed out with more work. He’s a good rim protector who alters a ton of shots as well with his size.
SF Julian Manson Julian Manson 6'3" | SF Iowa City West | 2026 IA (Iowa City West) (2026)
Manson, the son of former Iowa quarterback Jason Manson, is a 6-3/6-4 wing who can put the ball on the floor and get to the rim for finishes. He’s a fluid athlete with good length who can defend multiple positions, rebounds well, and is a good ball-handler who can create looks for himself and others.
