Obviously some of these players are positionless players that can fit in multiple spots, but we did our best to categorize them based on their skillset.
Here’s a look at part two of our rankings for power forwards and centers in the new rankings.
15) Wyatt Trundle Wyatt Trundle 6'6" | PF Meridian | 2023 State VA | 6’6” PF | Meridian (#55 Overall)
Trundle takes another jump in the rankings this time, and he’s been as consistent as anyone in the rankings so far in his senior season. The 6’6” forward is a walking mismatch with his ability to stretch the floor and put it on the deck on the perimeter, he can crash the glass and has soft touch around the rim and he’s an excellent help side defender who will take charges and challenge shots at the rim.
14) Will Bonde Will Bonde 6'7" | PF Miller School | 2023 State VA | 6’7” PF | Miller School (#49 Overall)
Bonde is the glue for this Miller School team that has played as tough a schedule as anyone in the state, and his versatility on both ends of the floor is what makes him so important to their team. The 6’7” forward is a knock down shooter from deep and can attack closeouts, he brings a toughness to his team as he fights for rebounds and loose balls and defensively he’s their most important guy as they can put him on the other team’s best player no matter what position they play.
13) Christian Greenlaw Christian Greenlaw 6'6" | PF Woodside | 2023 State VA | 6’6” PF | Woodside (#45 Overall)
Greenlaw is sometimes forgotten on this very talented Woodside team, but at 6’6” he’s able to bring them a tough paint presence who plays much bigger than he is. He’s an explosive athlete who can explode in the paint off a stand still and finish above the rim, he protects the paint and rebounds well on both ends of the floor and he’s fearless at the rim challenging shots and bringing a physicality to his team that’s unmatched.
12) Efe Sekeroglu Efe Sekeroglu 6'9" | C Virginia Episcopal | 2023 State VA | 6’9” C | Virginia Episcopal School (#40 Overall)
Sekeroglu is one of the most underrated players in the state as he is still relatively unknown, but he has so many tools that makes him a very intriguing prospect. The 6’9” big has that euro style to his game as he can play inside-out and has the ability to pass and make shots on the perimeter, he can post up and has an array of moves that makes him tough to guard in the paint and he is a good passer with a good feel and high IQ too.
11) Chris Fields Jr Chris Fields Jr 6'7" | PF Petersburg | 2023 State VA . | 6’7” PF | Petersburg (#38 Overall)
Fields has been absolutely fantastic as he takes another jump in the updated rankings, and the reigning Class 3 Player of the Year has been putting up huge numbers all season. The 6’7” forward is a walking bucket in so many different ways as he has improved immensely in his consistency from deep off the catch, he can get to spots in the midrange where he’s able to hit contested shots, he can get downhill where he’s an athletic finisher and he can bang in the paint and hit the offensive glass for buckets inside too.
10) Paul Williams Paul Williams 6'8" | C Walsingham | 2023 State VA | 6’8” C | Walsingham (#37 Overall)
Williams is not only one of the most productive big men in the 757, he’s also in line to be valedictorian of his school which is considered one of the top academic institutions in the state. The 6’8” big man is a two way impact guy who dominates the paint with his above the rim finishing ability and his ability to protect the rim, he plays with a great motor running the floor and making hustle plays and he is very smart and makes great decisions on both ends of the floor.
9) Josh Sime Josh Sime 6'8" | PF Western Albemarle | 2023 State VA | 6’8” PF | Western Albemarle (#31 Overall)
Sime is probably the best public school player in the Charlottesville area and has Western looking like a contender in Class 3 as he’s bounced back for a really good senior season. The 6’8” big man is a good athlete who can elevate to finish above the rim and is a good shot blocker as well, he can stretch the floor with his shooting ability and is a good passer as well and he can switch and guard multiple positions as well.
8) Dylan Saunders Dylan Saunders 6'8" | C Cave Spring | 2023 State VA | 6’8” C | Cave Spring (#26 Overall)
The Campbell commit has continued to be dominant this season with a number of big time performances against good teams, and he’s one of the best stretch big men that you’ll find in the class. He’s excellent in pick-and-pop situations as he is a good screener and can pop where he has good range and a quick release from deep, he can go inside where he has a big frame and soft touch over the shoulder and he gets great position on block outs to be able to rebound as well.
7) Gibraltar Coleman Gibraltar Coleman 6'6" | PF Flint Hill | 2023 State VA | 6’6” PF | Flint Hill (#25 Overall)
Coleman is one of the most improved players in the class over the past few years, and the American commit is a versatile scoring threat that can fill it up in different ways and take over games. He’s a big guy who can use his frame in the paint to create space and finish at the rim, he can step out on the perimeter where he can knock down shots consistently and put it on the deck and he gets to the line often where he shoots a very good percentage as well.
6) Patrick O’Brien Patrick O’Brien 6'8" | C Bishop O'Connell | 2023 State VA | 6’8” C | Bishop O’Connell (#24 Overall)
O’Brien is the type of prospect where it seems like his best basketball is still ahead of him, as he was a back to the basket guy a few years ago and has grown into his body to become a mobile and athletic big who can play on the perimeter well. He moves well whether it’s running the floor or moving his feet defensively, he can catch and shoot from deep or attack closeouts and put it on the deck where he’s an athletic finisher when he gets downhill and he has the ability to guard multiple positions as well.
