Skaljac moves into the top 7 of our rankings and continues to impress with his skill, shot-making ability and how he rises up to the moment. Skaljac is a big game player and has done a great job carrying a huge offensive load for Brecksville this season. Right now a high priority for mid major programs across the region, it wouldn’t stun me if Skaljac got offers from Atlantic 10 or High Major programs depending on how he plays this summer.
Highlights
Garfield Heights has been one of the top teams in northeast Ohio and they’ve been winning games with their defense. Jones is a big part of that with his length and rim protection. The way Jones can switch onto guards and protect the rim is very valuable and will translate to the next level. Still a work in progress on the offensive end, Jones is making some strides but still a ways away from being ready to score at the Division I level. Jones currently holds a couple low major offers with more expected to come this spring and summer.
I am happy to go on record that Aekins is the quickest player in the state. An absolute blur at 5’8, Aekins gets where he wants on the court. A rapidly improving outside shot-maker, Aekins has taken his 3-point volume and accuracy to new heights this season. One of the top scorers in the entire state, Youngstown State became the first Division I program to offer Aekins a couple weeks ago. It’s been a fast rise for Aekins who will look to continue his impressive play on the EYBL circuit this spring and summer against top competition.
Lutheran West have gone to new heights this season with marquee victories over some of the top teams around northeast Ohio. Levis has been the biggest reason for this success, with his elite off the bounce moves and toughness from the point guard spot. I’ve written about Levis extensively this season after watching the Longhorns multiple times so check out those articles for a full breakdown of his game, but I expect Levis to be at the top of most Division II point guard recruiting boards this spring and summer.
