The first of two Spire prospects on this list, both coming from the NBA Africa academy. Yadd has great size at 6’8 with a strong frame with wide shoulders and a good overall build. Yadd is physical in the paint, not afraid to throw his weight around with other bigger prospects. I was also impressed with how Yadd moved his feet defensively and showed a little bit of a jump-shot in the game I scouted of him.
The second Spire prospect on this list, Ly is an intriguing athlete who projects as one of the best defenders in the 2025 class in Ohio. I was impressed by his activity on the defensive end and his physical tools are impressive as well. If the game slows down for him in the half court then he could continue to increase his stock after a strong opening showing in the 2025 rankings.
Bakadisula is another prospect with some very intriguing physical tools who is starting to put things together for a stacked Lutheran East squad. First watching him, you’ll notice his awesome frame and physical tools, one of the strongest players in the 2025 class. Bakadisula is another player who will need some development but the reps he’s getting right now are allowing him to look better each time I watch him play and he’s starting to become more consistent with his production and motor.
One of the more talented scorers in central Ohio’s 2025 class, Bagley has a lot of natural talent with the ball in his hands. Bagley can create for himself out of isolation situations and has the threat of a pull-up jumper whenever. The biggest areas of improvement for Bagley will be getting stronger to handle defensive pressure when he’s bumped and learning how to play with other talented players. Bagley playing on a talented and organized grassroots program this spring and summer could really help him develop his passing ability.
Lutheran West has been one of the biggest surprises in the state with their impressive early season play and while their 2024 guards have been getting it done, 2025 forward Matthew Meyer Matthew Meyer 6’7″ | PF Lutheran West | 2025 State OH has also been huge for the Longhorns. Meyer has a good body and has nimble feet for a player of his size. I thought his hands were also soft, catching passes from his guards on dribble drive plays and he showed a little touch from the 10-15 foot range as well.
