Our Headliners
Eastview and Lakeville South was a close match-up won by the Lightning. The 17 from Jonathan Mekonnen Jonathan Mekonnen 6'8" | PF Eastview | 2024 State #201 Nation MN , 12 from Henry Eliason Henry Eliason 6'5" | SF Eastview | 2023 MN , and all around balanced game overcame a big performance by South junior DaMarcus Burks DaMarcus Burks 6'4" | SG Lakeville South | 2024 State MN . Burks had the 29 but the Lightning had seven guys who scored on three or more possessions.
Our prediction was…. two scores off but we picked the winner correct (Eastview).
Make everybody take note Hayden Tibbits Hayden Tibbits 5'11" | PG Wayzata | 2023 State MN ! The Wayzata point guard scored 33 points and moved the ball to Spencer Hall Spencer Hall 6'3" | SF Wayzata | 2023 State MN and Jackson McAndrew Jackson McAndrew 6'10" | PF Wayzata | 2024 State #24 Nation MN so they could each score 20 plus themselves. It was a big statement game from Tibbits who is now firmly in the talk for post-season stuff.
Our prediction was…. well, I said Wayzata by double digits but did not expect a 41 point blowout versus Eden Prairie.
Big game from Holy Family wing Braylon Cummings Braylon Cummings 6'2" | SG Holy Family | 2023 State MN who scored 20 and helped allow the Holy Family starting group an early season in a 70-40 win over Jordan.
Our prediction was… again, I said Fire by 14, but they won by 30 so the prediction was right but didn’t expect a total blowout. Fire was up 44-22 at the half.
Six-foot guard Eli Nelson Eli Nelson 5'10" | PG Paynesville Area | 2023 MN of Paynesville Area produced a big memory last night scoring 25 points and leading his team to an eye opening win over ranked BBE. Nelson and Paynesville have been good all year but this was a statement win.
Our prediction was, right! Paynesville won! Didn’t pick a blowout but we go 4-0 with this one.
Cooper Drews Cooper Drews 6'4" | SF Princeton | 2023 State MN once again made a case for himself as league MVP, Class AAA All State team worthy, Mr. Basketball top 20 level worthy, etc as he scored 25 and led Princeton to a blowout win over Becker.
Our prediction was, Princeton winning and we go 5-0!
