Here is a look at the top Class of 2023 standouts from the Summit Grill Shootout.

[player_tooltip player_id='1161287' first='Marqueas' last='Bell'] (Park Hill): The 6'3" 2023 SEMO recruit had a big third-place game with a 33-point effort in the victory over Raytown. The slender lefty was getting buckets from all three levels as he knock down 3-pointers and slithered into the lane for drives or pull up jumpers from the mid-range area. He moved well coming off screens as well as created off the dribble.

[player_tooltip player_id='1440453' first='Kendrick' last='Bell'] (Park Hill): The 6'3" 2023 Michigan football recruit had a very active game against Raytown as he scored 10 points and grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds. He has elite athleticism and he played with a high motor at both ends of the court. He was very good at attacking the basket, whether it was either on the drive or operating at the high post against the zone defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1070118' first='Brady' last='Bowers'] (Rock Bridge): The 6'1" 2023 point guard scored a team-high 15 points in the Bruins victory over Raytown South. He's was very effective on offense, whether he had the ball in his hands or he was playing off the ball. He's a knock down shooter from 3-point range and I also liked his pull up jumper from the mid-range area. He also delivered some nice passes out of the pick and roll.

[player_tooltip player_id='1167326' first='Kanyon' last='Hummel'] (Rock Bridge): The 6'9" 2023 forward was a force at both ends of the court. He was very active on defense as he blocked shots and rebounded well. He has solid offensive skills in the low post, which include passing when he faces a double team. He's very mobile as he runs the court very well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1615604' first='Matt' last='Williams'] (Lee's Summit West): A 6'7" forward who has good size and a skill set that fits in well with his talented teammates on the perimeter. He is a good passer from the high post and he can also hit that 15 foot jumper. He can also stretch the floor with his ability to hit the 3-pointer. He also has a solid presence on the defensive end with his size inside.

Elijah Martinez (Lee's Summit): The 6'3" forward is a very resourceful offensive player who has a nice burst and the ability to slash into the lane to get buckets. He is strong when he is attacking the basket and he has a good jump stop in the lane to establish a good base when he scores.

[player_tooltip player_id='1443785' first='Mark' last='Hajicek'] (Rock Bridge): A 6'3" guard who plays with a high motor that is always running. He plays the game in attack mode and he displays very good body control in the lane when he looks to finish. He also plays well without the ball as he makes hard cuts and keeps moving to the open spots.

David Mayo (Lee's Summit West): A 6'2" forward who did a very nice job of finishing around the basket. He worked the baseline well and found openings to defense to receive passes and score around the rim. He works well in traffic and he doesn't mind the contact. Being an undersized forward does not seem to bother him at all.
