<p>[player_tooltip player_id='1269935' first='Christian' last='Hughes'] (Kirkwood): The 6'2 2023 guard led the undefeated Pioneers to the championship of the MICDS Tournament. In the semifinals, he led a dramatic rally from a 16 point deficit as he scored 13 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter in a win over Ladue. He is an explosive guard who can knock down 3-pointers and also score at the rim. He averaged 15.8 points in the tournament.</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='1440474' first='Matt' last='Haefner'] (Lafayette): The 6'7 2023 Truman State recruit led the Lancers on an incredible run from a 13th seed to the championship of the Coaches vs Cancer Tournament. He averaged 16.4 points and four rebounds while shooting 42 percent from 3-point range and providing some excellent playmaking. He hit big shots when it was needed and made his teammates better.</p>

He averaged 15 points in the tournament, including a pair of 20+ point performances against Whitfield and Ladue. He showcased his excellent two-way ability as he provided stellar defense with his length in addition to his bucket-getting.</p>

The sharpshooting guard averaged 17.8 points a game while shooting 47 percent from 3-point range. He had a high of 28 points in the third place game against Memphis University.</p>

He averaged 15 points a game in the tournament, but he came up big in the semifinals and championship games as he averaged 19 points and made a combined seven of 11 shots from 3-point range. He is setting nicely into his new role as a primary scoring option this season. </p>
