On the Horizon, The Class of 2026 is Loaded

It takes reps, reps, reps to become consistent, even though flashes of brilliance may emit from the star during the freshman season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1549097' first='Cello' last='Jackson']</strong> - FACS</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1560719' first='Trey' last='Pearson']</strong> - Pope Prep</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Fantastic attacking with multiple speeds. Lefty point guard. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1580652' first='Tyshaun' last='Dewayne Poore']</strong> - Cane Ridge<br>Poore starts for a down Cane Ridge team. The loss of #1 Brandon Miller was seismic and the parachute out of that 2022-2023 airplane is not working well thanks to that Miller-sized gaping hole in the team's fabric. Poore [pictured above] joins two other young, unproven talents to comprise the backcourt. [player_tooltip player_id='1495451' first='Kelvin' last='Lusk'] is the most experienced player. He is very good, but virtually alone among a thin senior class. Poore is kind of a combo guard right now, though he might mature into a starting point guard for a program consistently churning out elite high school point guards. Few advance to D1 basketball, but most are fringe college players. Head Coach Marlin Simms coaches guard play very well, and the ability to think and think fast is required to lead Cane Ridge into offensive sets. Poore is not quite there as a floor general at the high school level, but he is a very good individual scorer already. He can catch-and-shoot, or handle a bit. His length at the guard spot is helpful.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1549096' first='MJ' last='Haynes']</strong> - FACS</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1519038' first='Trey' last='Guthrie']</strong> - Houston County</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Trey loves to compete. Against everyone regardless of their size, age, or skills. Already the freshman is well-traveled. He is a strong, young player with room to grow physically ands his skillset. The natural strength, as he enters his high school career, is stunning. Guthrie does not fear contact, and scores very well within 8' even against taller players. His outside shot is very unrefined but not bad.
