Jaycen Santucci Jaycen Santucci 6'4" | SG Central Regional | 2025 State NJ , 6’4 SG Central Regional 2025
Santucci had a stellar game for the Golden Eagles as he was aggressive from the opening tip. The 6’4 guard attacked the basket with a purpose as he finished through traffic around the basket. Santucci used his handle to get to his spot on the floor and rose up nicely on his jumper. He skied for rebounds on both ends of the floor and made plays on the defensive end. Santucci has had a breakout sophomore season for Central Regional and it should continue as the season progresses.
Sherrod Nelson, 5’9 PG Toms River North 2025
Nelson had a solid game for the Mariners as he controlled the flow of the offense. The 5’9 guard played with poise as he was not rattled by on-ball pressure and was able to get to his spot on the floor. Nelson showed a nice release on his jumper and set his feet before every shot. He was able to get to the rim and moved his feet well on the defensive end. Nelson’s ability to run the offense smoothly is something that will help Toms River North in the postseason tournaments in 2023.
Jack Vallillo, 5’8 PG Holmdel 2026
Vallillo had a breakout game for the Hornets as he poured in a team-high 18 points. The 5’8 guard was lethal from behind the arc as he drilled four three-pointers and has a quick release on his jumper. Vallillo moved well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open jumpers behind the arc. He showed flashes of the ability to run the offense and fought for rebounds. Vallillo’s shooting is something that will be key for Holmdel as the Hornets look to make noise in the state tournament.
Louis Galasso Louis Galasso 5'11" | PG Cherokee | 2026 State NJ , 5’11 PG Cherokee 2026
Galasso opened up the game strong for Cherokee as he was hunting for his shot early. The 5’11 guard has a good shooting stroke as he wasted little motion in getting his jumper off. Galasso showed off a decent handle as he was able to get into the paint and ran the offense at times. He moved well without the ball in his hands and made good passes during the game. Galasso is a freshman to watch in South Jersey with his ability to knock down jumpers from behind the arc.
Ryan Jacobs Ryan Jacobs 6'0" | CG Donovan Catholic | 2025 State NJ , 6’1 SG Donovan Catholic 2025
Jacobs carried the scoring load for the Griffins as he was the only one to get into double-digits with 14 points. The 6’1 guard attacked the basket hard as he was able to get to the paint and draw contact. Jacobs finished nicely around the basket and showed a good touch on his free throws. He was able to start the offense in transition off of defensive rebounds and rarely made bad decisions with the ball in his hands. Jacobs can only gain confidence with a game he had as Donovan Catholic looks to end the season strong.
