Collins alongside the trio of seniors (Tae Jackson, Sam King Sam King 6'4" | SG Roosevelt | 2023 State IA , and Jaekwon Bradley Jaekwon Bradley 6'1" | SG Roosevelt | 2023 State IA ) have Roosevelt near the top of the newly formed Iowa Alliance South. Collins showed great athleticism and a strong knack for attacking the rim. He showcased a nasty 1 on 1 face-up game and a smooth jumper to go along with it. Collins is an intriguing 2024 prospect to me and he is setting himself up for a big summer!
Aydn Netten Aydn Netten 6'3" | SF Van Meter | 2023 State IA , Van Meter 2023: Fresh off an incredible 2022 state championship football season, Netten has the Bulldogs sitting at 8-2 and undefeated in West Central Conference play. The explosive senior guard is leading the way and averaging 11.9 points per contest for Van Meter. Netten is active on the defensive end and used his athleticism and length to turn a couple steals into transition buckets while I was in attendance for a big win over Des Moines Christian. Netten and his crew of Bulldogs will be a team to watch in the 2nd half and will no doubt be a tough out in postseason play.
Bode Goodman, Southeast Polk 2025: I was able to see Goodman go for 21 points and dish out 4 assists in the Rams opening night contest against Indianola. The ability to drive to the basket with either hand and finish over defenders in the paint has been a positive area of development in the guard’s game. He has the ability to stay under control and play with poise beyond his sophomore status. Bode is currently averaging 13.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game; all while also averaging 2.7 steals a game.
Romon Hugan Romon Hugan 6'2" | SF Pella | 2024 State IA , Pella 2024: I had a few opportunities to see Hugan on the hardwood in the fall of 2022. In a Top 64 League game in Pella, he put on a clinic and showcased his uber-talented ability to score in a variety of ways; included in his arsenal was a contested step-back 3-pointer at the buzzer to give his team the win! Hugan is a part of a well-balanced and well-coached Pella Dutch team that is 5-3 and will certainly be in the thick of things in the Little Hawkeye Conference.
Drew Chance Drew Chance 6'2" | PF Albia | 2023 State IA , Albia 2023: One of my favorite players I have gotten to see in person this season, Chance is one of the best scorers in the entire state. Averaging North of 24 points per game, Chance has been a pain in the side of opposing defenses and coaching scouting reports. The senior has worked tirelessly on his game and improving his shooting, and the numbers speak for themselves. He has seen his three point shooting percentage increase from 19% to a crisp 42% so far this season, all while seeing different schemes and strategies defensively in an attempt to contain him.
