It hasn’t been a season that anybody hoped for, for this Queens school but Tyler has been a bright spot. He moves well without the ball. Finds open spots with purpose cuts. Rebounds well from the guard position. Gets into the lane off the bounce. Excellent help and recover defender. Closes out strong with good position to prevent drive or jumper.
Jalen was a big transfer pickup right before the start of the season. He is a big reason why St Peters is in third place in the tough NY AA division of the CHSAA. Jalen is averaging 9 ppg but he is also helping to run the offense on the floor He’s shooting the three when it’s there. Has excellent vision. Has shown an explosive dribble drive game to the hoop.

Najay Bess
This young freshman guard has burst onto the scene and is looking like he’s a seasoned veteran. He is a flat out scorer of the ball. Has a quick release off the catch and also gets into his jumper quickly off the bounce. Outstanding shooter with deep range. Extremely confident scorer.
A heady crafty point guard. Finds ways to get into the lane. Capable three point shooter. Has a nice pull up game in transition or out of a half court set.
Jahmire has all the attributes you want for a post presence in the CHSAA. He is plain and simple a beast inside. Outstanding worker in the paint. Hunts rebounds. Also has shown some nice footwork to score inside. He gets a lot of his points doing all the dirty work.
Mike is the co point with the above mentioned Jalen. Mike is an extremely crafty quick guard. An elusive handle which he uses to weave himself into the lane to either score, kick or draw defenders and drop it off. Outstanding shooter with deep range. An excellent defender on the ball. The leader of the St Peters club.
When you are scoring 24ppg and leading the Chsaa in scoring that’s says a lot. He is a three level scorer. He has all the tools in the toolbox to score the ball. Step back, crossover, unlimited range with good lift. Can score off the bounce or the catch. Handles the ball with either hand and can get his shot off with either hand as well. For all his scoring prowess he also showed us flashy or finesse passes in tight spots. Really quick north-south dribble.
