Vincent Vandervest Vincent Vandervest 6'4" | SF Bay Port | 2023 State WI — SF — Bay Port
I think that Vandervest’s game is in a really good spot. After dealing with an injury for a significant portion of time, the small forward appears to be back to 100 percent. In Bay Port’s overtime loss, Vandervest scored 15 points. Around the rim, the SF is so tricky. He uses great footwork and athleticism to get buckets in the paint. On Tuesday, Vandervest was also able to knock down some difficult jumpers.
Emmett Lawton Emmett Lawton 6'2" | SG Notre Dame Academy | 2023 State WI — SG — Notre Dame
I have really enjoyed watching Lawton play over the years. Tuesday was one of his finest performances. The shooting guard scored 26 points in a win. Every time Notre Dame needed a big shot, Lawton stepped up. I have been very impressed by the SG’s development as an overall scorer. Earlier in his career, Lawton served as primarily a stationary shooter. But now, Lawton scores well from everywhere. As time expired in overtime, Lawton drained a contested corner three to give his squad the lead.
Henry Weber — G — Notre Dame
I loved the toughness that Weber brought to the table on Tuesday night. On multiple occasions, the guard aggressively took the ball to the cup and drew contact. I also thought that Weber played terrific defense. He played with a lot of effort and heart. In the winning effort, the guard tallied 17 points and five rebounds.
Andrew Rader Andrew Rader 6'10" | PF Notre Dame Academy | 2025 State WI — F — Notre Dame
Even though he didn’t put up huge numbers, Rader still caught my attention. The forward stands at 6-foot-8 and is very mobile on the perimeter. He is able to step outside and drain long range shots with no problem. Because of his frame, I also see potential in Rader as rim protector and rebounder. He definitely isn’t there yet, but when Rader reaches his ceiling, the forward will be a special player.
AJ Lieuwen AJ Lieuwen 6'0" | CG Bay Port | 2023 WI — PG — Bay Port
Every time I watch Lieuwen play, I am amazed by the point guard’s skill. With the ball in his hands, Lieuwen is incredibly quick. He uses this speed to get downhill and finish at the rim. On the outside, the PG is also an excellent shooter. While he may be a tad bit undersized for his position, Lieuwen makes up for it with pure skill. Lieuwen scored 22 points on 7-15 shooting in Bay Port’s close loss.
Jayden Hackett Jayden Hackett 6'4" | SF Bay Port | 2023 State WI — SF — Bay Port
Hackett was no doubt one of the best players on the court Tuesday night. The athletic small forward did a little bit of everything in his team’s loss. He made threes, played solid defense, finished in the paint, and was perfect from the free throw line. Certainly a sleeper in Wisconsin’s 2023 class, college programs should get in contact with Hackett as soon as possible.
Ethan Wall-Atim Ethan Wall-Atim 6'4" | PF Notre Dame De La Baie Academy | 2023 State WI — PF — Notre Dame
Even though he won’t grab a ton of headlines, Wall-Atim deserves a lot of credit for his play. The power forward is tough as nails on both ends of the court. He rebounds well, plays great defense, and is capable of scoring around the rim. In Notre Dame’s win, the PF tallied 11 points and eight rebounds.
