The 2023 class got a little bit smaller yesterday as Bound Brook forward [player_tooltip player_id='1150271' first='Jordan' last='Summers'] committed to Caldwell. The forward crop still has a lot of talent that can make an impact at the next level, especially in Group 2. Here are the top available 2023 Group 2 prospects.

[player_tooltip player_id='902740' first='Dasear' last='Haskins'], 6'8 SF Camden

Haskins is the top available public prospect in the Garden State and has had a strong senior season for the High. The 6'8 lefty has a nice release on his jumper and wastes little motion in his shooting stroke. Haskins can also put the ball on the floor and finishes nicely around the basket. He skies for rebounds on both ends of the floor and has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor. Haskins is a skilled forward prospect whose recruitment will be one to watch this winter and spring.

[player_tooltip player_id='902742' first='Delroy' last='Smith'], 6'7 PF Hillside

Smith is a forward prospect to watch in Union County as he has had a good season so far for the Comets. The 6'7 forward has a good face-up game as he has the ability to put the ball on the floor and finish around the rim. Smith moves well without the ball in his hands and has range that extends to the three-point line. He is a strong rebounder and uses his length to swat shots on the defensive end. Smith's ability to stretch the floor and play in the paint is something that will help his stock in a big way.

[player_tooltip player_id='1269717' first='Lazaro' last='Rodriguez'], 6'4 SF South River

Rodriguez does a little bit of everything for the Rams and is a reason that they are 12-1 on the season. The 6'4 forward has a strong frame, which he uses to get position down low and finish through contact. Rodriguez has a solid handle and has a nice touch on his free throws. He fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor and is an underrated defender. Rodriguez is a gritty forward prospect who does whatever it takes to help his team win games.

[player_tooltip player_id='1401568' first='Roman' last='Santos'], 6'5 SF South River

Santos has been fantastic for the Rams this season as he leads them in scoring in 2022-23. The 6'5 forward is at his best attacking the basket as he is a good finisher and does not mind contact. Santos is unselfish as he makes the right passes and moves well without the ball in his hands. He is a solid rebounder and works hard on the defensive end. Santos has four 20-point games this season for South River and that number should only go up as 2023 progresses.

[player_tooltip player_id='1269813' first='Quinn' last='Peters'], 6'7 PF Manasquan

Peters has stepped into the starting lineup for the Warriors in his senior season and has responded nicely on both ends of the floor. The 6'7 forward has a nice touch around the basket and knows how to get position down low. Peters has a good touch on his jumper and can knock down open jumpers from behind the arc. He fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor and holds his ground on the defensive end. Peters is a tough forward prospect who is unafraid of doing the dirty work down low for Manasquan.
