Zyree Collins Zyree Collins 6'0" | PG St. Mary's | 2025 State #338 Nation MO (St. Mary’s): The 6’0″ 2025 guard averaged 30 points a game in his three games at Webster to set a new tournament scoring record. Like his older brother Yuri, he is an excellent passer, but he has a very diverse and potent offensive skill set. He’s physically strong and he’s able to move at his own pace and get to his spots very effectively. He is an excellent finisher in the lane and he compliments it with a nice pull up jumper from the mid-range area. He will also hit the open 3-pointer.
Terron Garret (CBC): The 6’5″ 2025 shooting guard was one of the most impressive youngsters in the tournament. He scored 21 points in the semifinals win over John Burroughs in the game that I watched. He has excellent height and length for his position and he has one of the smoothest shooting strokes that you’ll see. Butter. He’s very good off the catch and off the pick and pop and he can also hit you with the two dribble and pull up jumper.
Tristan Reed (John Burroughs): A 6’7″ 2026 power forward who enjoys playing the power game in the paint. He already plays with a high level of physicality for a young player when it comes to establishing his post position or blocking out for rebounds. He is a strong finisher around the basket and he will also block shots on the defensive end. He also runs the court pretty well.
De’Anthony Carter (Lee’s Summit): A 6’3″ 2025 guard who is long and wiry and can score and rebound very effectively. Watched him in the consolation round against Confluence and he displayed a nice shooting stroke from 3-point range. He was also a very good offensive rebounder with good bounce and the ability to find openings to crash. He also used his length very well on the defensive end.
Landon Van Pelt (Lee’s Summit): A 6’7″ 2026 forward who looked very impressive in the tournament. He operated in the high post very well and showcased some excellent passing skills. He would turn opposite and find the open shooter as he made several good decisions with the ball. He also used his big body to establish good position in the low post and he finished well with the drop step. He definitely held his own physically against the older players.
Mekhi Owens Mekhi Owens 6'4" | SF McCluer North | 2026 State MO (McCluer North): A 6’4″ 2026 wing who came off the bench and had an excellent performance against St. Mary’s in the consolation bracket game with 11 points. He was attacking the basket well and he had an effective pull up game. He also hit an open 3-pointer from the wing.
Matthew Michalski (CBC): A 6’10 2025 center who is starting to come into his own as a player. He uses his height and length well on the defensive end to block and alter shots in the paint. He has a nice touch inside and he also hit a baseline jumper from about 10 feet. He is just getting started in his development, so his future is indeed bright.
