Hunter Caplan
Hunter Caplan
Hunter plays with some poise and High IQ as you can see he is thinking about the next play. Made some great decisions on the ball as he was a big ball mover. Hunter made some quality passes and he was moving without the basketball. He made himself available many times when his team needed him. Hunter could be a late bloomer but he has some great fundamentals for sure.
Elijah Thomas
Elijah Thomas
First thing you notice about his game is his motor. Elijah is out there tracking the ball and he is a crafty hooper. When he gets into the open floor he is able to use that dribbling ability to get to the rim. When he has a chance he can get to his spots at the 15-foot mark. One other aspect of his game that he wen to a lot this weekend was his floater. Now his floater game was solid enough that he could use it over bigs and over players that he could not always get by. In time he will develop a little more and add more to his game. Till then he can lean on a nice handle and a crafty style of play to get some shots of and good looks at the basket.
Deiter Tutavuki
Deiter Tutavuki
Dieter was undersized but he went to battle he was a typical throw-back player that was using everything head to try and gain some advantage. He would get low on defense using his string legs to hold it down defending post players. He could not out-jump everyone so he boxed out and was able to out-smart the competition. Dieter also has big hands and big feet and when he grows and maybe gets to like 6’4 or 6’5 he is going to be a beats because he is already strong and has some game down on the blocks but he can also step out and stretch the floor a bit. He was a quality player for Team Utah.
Xavier Starks
Xavier Starks
Xavier was a Swiss Army Knife for his squad. Xavier was defending 1-5 and he was creating so much pressure that it led to errant passes and tips and steals. He had some stretches where he was creating and generating offense himself. That high energy was contagious and was one of the reasons he stood out as a quality player. Shot the ball well from outside and his slashing ability was where he stood out as well.
