Dasher, Dancer, Comet, Cupid, Prancer, Vixen, Blitzen, Donner, and Rudolph are well known in Holiday lore. What if the sleigh was being pulled by Michigan high school basketball’s senior class? Who would be 9 players pulling the sleigh? Here are my example of 9 athletes leading the way.
Santa must have needed some reindeer with some explosiveness. Enter Olafioye. There may be no tougher player in the state to keep in front of you as a defender. Olafioye’s ball handling and fast feet are just what we need to pull the sleigh.
Santa has to have reindeer that are leaders. Taylor certainly fits that mold. He makes players around him better and he’s the type of player that other players want to follow. Perfect for pulling the Michigan high school basketball sleigh.
We need that reindeer that’s willing to put the work in when the Christmas lights are off. Ayrault has been doing that for years now. He’s one of the most improved players in the state over the course of the entire 4 year high school career.
Accuracy of the reindeer has to be a big deal right? Well, have you ever seen Prince Jackson Prince Jackson 6’0″ | PG North Farmington | 2023 State MI throw a pass? He can deliver the ball with touch, accuracy, and creativity. Jackson can hit a teammate on the move in the open floor as well.
Santa needs accuracy from his reindeer like we talked about above? Lets do the Michigan high school basketball sleigh a huge favor add add some downhill accuracy with Briggs. He can absolutely shake defenders with his handles, draw the defense, and dish the ball off with precision.
Needless to say, if we’re pulling a flying sleigh, we need some athletes right? There may be no more of an athletic high flyer than Thomas. He flat out gets up off the ground and finishes with flare above the rim.
To pull a sleigh for the state of Michigan, we need some strength and power. Rummler fits that bill. He has the strength and build of a next level player. Rummler can provide heavy minutes and never let his performance be effected.
We need reindeer that never give up, the job is that big. Well, Odoms never gave up, and this fall his play caught college coaches eyes at the David Barns Showcase and the Prep Hoops Michigan Top 250. The dynamic guard is now a legitimate next level player with colleges showing serious interest.
Highlights
I want someone pulling the sleight that flat out gets the job done. That isn’t intimidated by the moment. If you’ve seen Runinkevich play, you know that describes him as a basketball player. No matter what court or against who, he’s going to get buckets.
