Prep Hoops Missouri takes a look at a group of players who are primed to have breakout seasons in 2022-23. These players were valuable complimentary players last season, but will step into much bigger roles this season after the graduation of their standout teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id='1427981' first='Clayton' last='Jackson'] (Cardinal Ritter): The 6'2 2024 point guard concentrated on distributing the ball last season as the Lions featured Division I recruits Robert Lewis and Braxton Stacker. He is physically strong with ability to score at three levels. His numbers will jump after averaging six points a game as a sophomore on a Final Four team.

[player_tooltip player_id='1164069' first='Anthony' last='Gause'] (CBC): A smooth 6'2 2024 shooting guard who saw valuable reserve minutes behind All-State players Robert Martin and Larry Hughes Jr on the Cadets Class 6 state championship game. He is a talented offensive player with a smooth shooting stroke from 3-point range. He will be one of the Cadets' biggest offensive threats for the next two years.

[player_tooltip player_id='1170275' first='Zach' last='Henry'] (Blair Oaks): A 2024 shooting guard who is the one experienced returning player from an excellent team that featured graduated standouts Luke Northweather and Quinn Kusgen. Henry was a good spot up 3-point shooter for those teams. Now,!he becomes the primary scorer for the Falcons.

[player_tooltip player_id='1440506' first='Martez' last='Burse'] (South Iron): For the first time in five years, the Panthers won't have Brock Wakefield or Drenin Dinkins to get big buckets. That mantle has been passed to Burse, a talented 6'2 2023 guard who looks ready for the moment. He's a slashing guard who can knock down 3-pointers. He averaged 20 points in leading South Iron to the championship of the Arcadia-Valley Thanksgiving Tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='1606860' first='Josh' last='Allen'] (Blue Springs): A 6'3 2023 guard who will be stepping into a bigger offensive role after the graduation of standout forward Ikenna Ezeogu and guard Kyle Bruce. He's a solid all-purpose guard who averaged nine points a game last season. He's has 3-point range with the ability to move without the ball.

Aiden Burns (Thayer): The 6'3 2024 guard is already somewhat established as he averaged 14 points a game for last year's 29-2 Final Four team. However, as the only returning starter, he has a chance to blow up and become a dominant scorer to replace graduated bucket-getter Jordan Andrews. Burns will become the focal point of the Bobcats' offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1600488' first='Justin' last='Hayes'] (Holt): A 6'5 2024 wing who is primed to break out this season after averaging eight points a game as a sophomore. He has good size and athleticism and a nice offensive skill set to match.
