Ian Senn
Senn is one of the more dynamic athletes in the state. With elite quick twitch, burst, and explosion, he’s a blur in the open court and a constant mismatch. Senn uses his first step to create instant space and constantly has defenders on their heels. This allows him to live at the rim and dominate the paint. However, he’s a paint beast when Senn can create his own off the bounce and is creative in the midrange. Head fakes, hesitations, and pump fakes are all in his bag and keeps defenders guessing. With a score-fist mentality and aggressiveness with his touches, Senn could emerge as a top-flight scorer in the state if he can continue his production. Defensively Senn is highly active and looks like an all-state safety when clogging pass lanes and intercepting passes leading to showtime dunks and easy points in transition.
Matthews continues to gain steam as the season progress. As a two-way guard, his ability to affect the game on both sides of the ball makes him one of the more underrated players in his class. Defensively Matthews is highly active, disruptive, and competitive. He takes on the challenge of being the point-of-attack defender, applying pressure, and contesting passing lanes. This activity creates constant transition for him and his teammates while rattling the opposing offense’s flow. Offensively he’s produced a handful of 30-point performances throughout the season- proving he can be a No.1 option and a dynamic playmaker. With an elite first step, Matthews can get downhill instantly and finish at the rim with slithery euros, spin moves, and floaters. Matthews is extremely tough in the paint and does a good job of absorbing contact and not letting it affect his layup attempts. These paint touches often generate fouls and free throw opportunities that he consistently converts on. If Matthews continues this level of play, scouts will have no choice but to offer him.
Highlights
Durley is a big guard who’s having a big impact on the court. With a great overall skill set, he’s an effective scorer at all three levels. His smooth textbook jumper is consistent from deep and midrange. The elevation, follow-through, quick release, and rotation make Durley one of the better shooters in the state and a constant threat on or off the ball. Durley is efficient with his dribbles and knows how to get to his spots to create high-percentage shots. His north and south style is simple but effective and can exist within or outside a structured offense. When driving, he displays an excellent floater and a strong frame to power through bumps/contact. Durley has also seemed to have developed a better feel for getting others involved. He sees the play ahead of time and creates efficient shots for others. As a new addition to our rankings, look for Durley to climb the rankings before the season ends.
Wiggins has been one of the more consistent scorers in the state throughout the season. As a reliable 20-point scorer, he’s a proven bucket-getter that can lead an offense. Wiggins primarily does his damage with a highly crafty mid-range game. He shows solid touch in the in-between area and is a knockdown shooter off the catch or off the bounce. However, Wiggins’ ability to create space with great movement off the ball allows him to find quality looks within the flow of the offense- making him one of the more college-ready guards in the state. Though he’s a snipper, Wiggins flashes shot-creation potential while attacking closeouts, attacking out of pick and rolls, or creating space with his hesitation pull-up. As the season progresses, look for Wiggins to emerge as an upper-echelon 2025 prospect.
Heiberger has quietly been a double-double machine this season. As an Inside-out threat that can command the post or hit threes off the catch, he’s a solid offensive option that is used in multiple ways in an offense. Heiberger shows good balance, footwork, touch and does a good job of doing work before the pass to get easier baskets. Heiberger also shoots effectively enough to be a threat as a stretch four or pick-and-pop threat, a coveted complimentary player alongside ball-dominant playmakers. However, Heiberger is athletic and skilled enough to take it off the glass and get into the offense. Despite his size, he can initiate, find guys on the break, and be a tertiary ball handler if the situation calls for it. Though he isn’t a household name, Heiberger is a sure-fire next-level player who you should keep an eye on.
