Continue ReadingNichols is sky rocketing up recruiting boards with his improvement over the offseason. Once just a slasher with freak athleticism, Avante has molded himself into a well-rounded player with a complete offensive game. His three-point shot has drastically improved each and every season. He is shooting 7-11 (64%) from beyond the arc, hitting a pair of threes vs. Lowndes. Nichols’ free throw percentage has also jumped, going from 60% to 76% through 25 attempts. Avante leads McDonough in scoring at 15.6 points. On Tuesday he had 10 points, 2 assists and 2 steals. Madison College, Lenoir-Rhyne, Shelton State and Bishop State have all offered the blossoming swingman.
Cameron is a defensive powerhouse. He’s incredibly vocal on the floor, an emotional leader for the Lions. He does the dirty work, rebounding and defending bigger opponents. His strength helps him defend multiple positions equally well. He filled up the box score with 6 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals and 1 block against Christ School.
Highlights
You won’t find many guards better than David Thomas David Thomas 6’2″ | PG Eagle’s Landing | 2023 State #197 Nation GA in transition. Once Eagle’s Landing broke out of the halfcourt game and played the full 94-feet, they blew Buford out of the water 73-50. Thomas was the catalyst, scoring 11 of his 17 points in the second half, assaulting the rim on coast-to-coast drives. Thomas has terrific body control. He absorbs contact and can locate the rim and finish when being fouled. Even when Thomas was having a quiet first half, he was still a positive influencer with his floor game. He finished with 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 5 steals and 2 blocks. Thomas should make an impact right away at Mercer.
Athleticism, effort and football toughness carry Jones’ game. He collected 13 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals in a loss to North Cobb Christian. Jones plays extremely hard and is a nightmare on defense with his quickness. He digs out steals and converts live ball turnovers into points. Kahlil’s leaping ability makes him play bigger than his size, having him be a very good rebounder.

Teasley scored the ball from different levels. He hit three first half three-pointers and showcased a soft floater when he got into the paint. The slender guard wasn’t afraid to mix it up on the backboards. Connor had 18 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block in a 59-58 win over Calhoun.
