He scored his 1,000 career point last night! Congrats Mr. Dvorak! For the game, Alex put up a cool 32 points. He was at the FT-line often. Dvorak is quick, shifty, and smooth with the rock. He was constantly probing and beating the defense off the bounce. Alex had a complete game with rebounds and steals. Dvorak is explosive to the rim and he is a versatile finisher. Expect Dvorak to lead Class A in scoring this season.
He certainly passed the eye test. Glasser is taller, stronger, and more athletic compared to last season. Damon did a great job of getting to the rim and being aggressive. On 3 occasions, Damon finished 3 AND1’s. He can definitely finish after contact! Glasser’s length on D allowed him to deflect passes and get tips to break up passes. He was also great at attacking the boards. It was a complete game for Mr. Glasser!
The Magi won by 34 points and Dissette finished with 35. He looked like Superman last night. Wow, was he impressive. He certainly looks like a D1 player, and he he played like it. Darik looked like a man amongst boys and he basically did whatever he pleased. He was strong/physical on defense and he took the ball away like it was candy from a baby. He did good work on the O-boards, his 3-point stroke looked good, was effective slashing, and DD had a BIG-TIME slam on a breakaway. It was the perfect way to start the season for Mr. Dissette. He is the frontrunner for Mr. Basketball!
This budding star led the Knights to an 18 point win over rival EGF. It always great to start the season with a win, it is even better when it’s against the school across the river. The STUD from GFC went for 26 points and 9 rebounds. Before the season started, PHD predicted Paye to have an All-State season. He is off to an amazing start!
The Mustangs lost but but Duerr shot the cover off the ball from deep. Caleb might still be a young buck when it comes to varsity playing experience, but his scope from 3-point land was dialed in last night! Duerr finished the game with 23 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Caleb was 7/12 from long range. Duerr looks like a college-ready athlete and he is only a junior. Caleb is primed for a monster season.
The youngster got into the starting lineup and he had a phenomenal showing. The Mustangs took the L but Ahneman showed out. Tommy boy dropped 19 points, grab 11 boards, blocked 4 shots, and knocked down a triple. The emerging BIG was 9/14 shooting. Ahneman is obviously BIG in size but he moves very well and he covers a lot of ground. On defense, it looks like Ahneman is going to be a very good paint protector. Get eyes on this Mustang now!
They crushed the Spuds last night. Ware finished with 13 points. William stood out in transition, he fly’s up and down the court at 6’7″. Ware showed off his athleticism with multiple transition scores and a noteworthy 2-handed WHAM. I love his versatility and his defensive ability.
He helped lead the charge in the 33 point win over Moorhead. Schafer had 21 points, 5 triples, and was 2-2 from the line. No surprise here as Isaiah is one of the top shooters in ND. Every time the ball leaves his had, you expect it to go in, he is that good! I really like how he does the work before he gets the ball and he does not need much room to get that silky shot off. Schafer is also excellent in the pull-up game. This kid is the real deal!
Doppler went for 10 points and he was 2-2 from the charity stripe. Doppler did not have a monster scoring night but he was solid in the large margin victory over the Spuds. He proved again that he is a tough defender. On offense, Anthony showed off his beautiful pull-up jumper. Off one or two dribbles, I doubt you will find a better jump shot in the state. He also did well penetrating into the paint. It was a great tune-up game for Doppler before they start WDA play on Tuesday.
He was the leading scorer for the Pats who blew out the Spuds. Ryan dominated the game early on and before we knew it, the rout was on! Erikson scored from every level in the half court. He will back you down on the block, attack off the dribble, and hit 3’s. I was impressed with his court vision and passing ability. It is going to be a fun year for the Patriots and Erikson!
He had a breakout performance in the Mandan 24-point win. Matt scored 21 points, grabbed 5 boards, produced 3 steals, and he cashed one 3-ball. Mudingay is a well put together athlete. He was deadly off the bounce and he got to the rim for most of his scores. Matt did spread the court and hit 1 triple. It was a great game for Mandan and a fantastic performance for Mudingay.
The “Super Soph” put on a show last night. The highlight of the game was Hudsen’s transition SLAM/WHAM/POSTER. At 6’1″, he is an athletic freak. He jumps like a kangaroo and runs like a gazelle. Sheldon produced 17 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, 1 three-pointer, and was 2-2 from the FT-line. This kid is a STAR on the rise, no doubt about it!
He shot the lights out in the comfortable win for the Braves. TJ went off for 4 three-pointers and 16 points. If he can shoot like that on a consistent basis, the Braves are going to be one SCARY team. TJ is a cool customer on the court with good skill and mobility. It was a great first showing for the youngster!
He played very well on both sides of the ball last night in the home opening win. Frank put the clamps down on defense. It was easy to see that Tahrye is a gifted athlete. Frank ended the night with 13 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists. He was a high percentage shooter going 6/7 from the field. Frank was All-WDA last year and he is off to a great start this season.
Much like Frank, he he stood out on the defensive side of the ball and put the clamps on. He finished with a double-double, Madenwald was a beast on the boards. He scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. 8 of those came on the offensive end! It was a fantastic performance by the junior.
