Thanksgiving Week I ran all around the city to many events. I attended the Sunnyslope Hoopsgiving Tournament at Deer Valley, Hilcrest Prep vs Over Time Elite, Millennium Nike Tournament, Fear the Hop at Mesa, Welcome to the Jungle at Gilbert and Black Hawk Thanksgiving Classic at Williams Field.

Here were some of the players who were shooting the lights out:

[player_tooltip player_id='1494967' first='Dylan' last='Novak'] ALA-Gilbert North (Pictured)

A point guard with a high feel for the game. The lefty is a great passer and will consistently drive and kick. His pinpoint passing is eye catching. He has a nice burst to get to the rim to score on floaters, pull-ups or layups. His deep shooting and passing sets up his game. He scored 32 points to win the Fear the Hop tournament and put his small school on the map.

[player_tooltip player_id='814508' first='Andrew' last='Camacho'] Peoria

A born scorer makes it look easy in stretches. He fires away from any spot on the court once he passes the half court line. He is on list of maybe five to win the POY in 4A. He leaves his heart on the line each game and he is showing he is getting more athletic with a dunk attempt on the break. He is the all time leader in Peoria history with 3's made. He currently has 212 and counting.

[player_tooltip player_id='831129' first='Eric' last='Perkins'] Deer Valley

A known shooter is improving in transition. He has become a little more athletic in the last year. He can score in traffic with tough shots and he can handle it and kick it to a teammate. He will still be one of their top shooters of the team.

[player_tooltip player_id='1032531' first='Jaydon' last='S Cameron'] Deer Valley

Another sharp shooter for the Skyhawks. He is a shooting wing who is improving his feel and passing skills. He is working inside more on the undersized team but he will stick the corner three. He is a quick release and comes with range.

[player_tooltip player_id='814505' first='Zach' last='Anderson'] Desert Mountain

A scoring guard is a catch and shoot three point gunner. He has a strong frame and can defend on the ball with his plus length. He can take one dribble and pull-up from 15-feet. He is moving without the ball and spotting up off of the House twins perfectly.

[player_tooltip player_id='814521' first='Aadem' last='Isai'] Valley Vista

The team leader and point guard has added range on his three point shot. He can rattle them off one by one with perfect ball rotation. He uses his left hand better then most and can whip passes around to teammates. He has a crafty and cerebral game, but once his shot is rolling, the Monsoon are a tough out.

[player_tooltip player_id='1120856' first='Justin' last='Hodgins'] Chandler

A catch and shoot three point shooter. He can make back door cuts for layups plus moves without the ball to free himself to score. He is a sneaky good passer to find teammates on the perimeter or his post players.

[player_tooltip player_id='1567091' first='Aiden' last='Patterson'] Desert Ridge

A long and taller wing scorer. He seemed to grow just in the last couple months to maybe 6'3 and pushing 6'4. He can hit the catch-3 plus take one-two dribbles and will rise up from mid-range. He takes long strides to get into the lane and his bounce is getting a little better.

[player_tooltip player_id='1285501' first='Cezer' last='Sotomayor'] Chandler

A true combo guard is a sniper as a catch three point shooter. He is quick to get into the lane and drop off the dime. His court vision is steadily improving as he is aging and he plays at his own pace.

[player_tooltip player_id='1177607' first='Isaiah' last='Lassiter'] Desert Vista

A thicker scoring guard has deep three point range and he can defend. He has long arms and strength to keep players in front of him. He can drive and plays with good awareness and IQ. His shot sets up the rest of his game.
