1. Mike Hill – Westchester 2023
Hill stood out as a good scoring guard. Can get downhill and attack the basket while finishing strong through contact. Consistently attacked defense off the dribble. Is able the shoot the three-point shot off face-ups. He did a good job looking for open teammates around the basket. Defensively he was solid; he’s good on ball and is able to force turnovers. Slides his feet and forces the ball-handler into difficult passes. Can fight around screens too. Quick hands to cause loose balls.
2. Tony Bobbitt – Wiseburn Da Vinci 2023
This was my second time seeing Bobbitt play and what has stood out to me both times his tenacity on the boards. He isn’t the tallest or biggest player out there but he rebounds well on both ends of the court. Has a knack for getting put backs on the offensive glass. He’s a solid defender too, keeps the ball-handler in front of him and fights around screens. Forces the ball-handler into tough decision-making. He can handle the ball at times and he has range to the three-point line.
3.

– Westchester 2023
What stood out the most to be about Corona was his defensive play. His help defense was solid, rotating over and stopping drives at the rim and getting the occasional block. He won the game I saw with his defensive plays, stopping a drive to the rim and then rushing out and getting a hand up on the potential game-tying three-point shot. Offensively, he can get good post position and is able to pass back out. A good free-throw shooter when he gets to line.
4. Jahaz Wright – Lynwood 2026
Wright was one of the best three-point shooters I saw. He does a good job floating to the corners and getting himself open where he consistently knocks down the three-point shot off the catch. Lynwood has a couple of players who can shoot from distance but Wright is the one they run plays for to get him free. Most of his points came from off-ball movement but when he did handle the ball, he showed the ability to shoot off the dribble in the halfcourt.
