Continue ReadingCameron Newman Cameron Newman 5’11” | PG Gaston Christian | 2026 State NC opened a lot of eyes on Saturday as Gaston Christian took on Greenforest in the game of the day. Newman looked comfortable and confident as a freshman playing high-level competition. He’s a creative scorer that possesses great body control. His ability to be driving one direction, then spring back or to the side to get his jumper off was pretty remarkable. He’s got a nice touch from mid-range and hit that shot on several occasions throughout the game. Cameron Newman Cameron Newman 5’11” | PG Gaston Christian | 2026 State NC needs to be seriously talked about at the top of the 2026 class.
Despite a poor showing from Shiloh, Emmanuel Okogie Emmanuel Okogie 6’1″ | CG Shiloh | 2023 State GA was a bright spot for them and has played well the past 2 weekends that I’ve been able to watch him. He’s been showcasing different parts of his game that will translate to the next level, things like shooting, finishing above the rim, and defensive physicality. At one point in the game, Okogie drove baseline and threw down a poster dunk over a defender or two. The more I see of Emmanuel Okogie Emmanuel Okogie 6’1″ | CG Shiloh | 2023 State GA , the more I believe he’s capable of being a college guard.
Cade Murphy
Cade Murphy
Cade Murphy is another freshman that showed out at Battle of the Peach on Saturday. I was initially surprised to find out that Murphy is only a freshman because of his confidence and fluidity within the offense. Murphy finished the game with 12 points, 10 of those coming in the first half before Knoxville began unloading their bench in the second half. He showed some impressive shotmaking ability and gives Knoxville Catholic another perimeter sharpshooter. When you look at Murphy’s early production, shooting ability, and already ideal size, he needs to be considered a big-time 2026 prospect.
Terrell Cordy
Terrell Cordy
Terrell Cordy was the hot hand for Westside on Saturday and his 28 points are what kept his team in the game. Cordy really started feeling it in the 3rd quarter where he scored 12 points and swung the momentum Westside’s way. Most of Cordy’s points came from behind-the-arc or from pull-up jumpers and his teammates did a great job of instilling confidence in him. He finished with 6 three-pointers on 9 attempts and scored 19 of his 28 points in the second half. While Daveon Henderson Daveon Henderson 6’0″ | CG Westside-Macon | 2023 State GA didn’t get rolling until the OT periods, Corey stepped up and proved they’re not just a one man show.
Cedric Haynes
Cedric Haynes
After losing Micah Tucker Micah Tucker 6’3″ | PG Huntington Prep | 2025 State #290 Nation WV in the 1st quarter due to injury, Knoxville Catholic’s collection of talent was just too much for Mt. Pisgah. However, Cedric Haynes stepped up after Tucker went down and showed that he too can carry the scoring load at times. He finished with a game-high 22 points, scoring in a variety of ways. Haynes has a nice touch around the rim and finished well through contact. He gets after it on the defensive end as well. Mt. Pisgah will be a fun team to watch in coming years with Micah Tucker Micah Tucker 6’3″ | PG Huntington Prep | 2025 State #290 Nation WV and Cedric Haynes ruling the backcourt.
