Jace Gilbert Jace Gilbert 6'5" | PF Arrowhead | 2024 State WI — F — Arrowhead
Arrowhead’s top prospects have already gotten plenty of coverage. So, let’s take a look at one of the Warhawks’ most important role players. Through seven games, the forward has been able to score 10.6 points per game. Gilbert is also grabbing 8.7 boards per game. When March rolls around, expect Gilbert to be relied on heavily. If he continues to play at a high level, then Arrowhead has a great chance at winning it all.
Bennett McCormick Bennett McCormick 6'3" | SG Catholic Memorial | 2023 State WI — SG — Catholic Memorial
McCormick has been a top player in Wisconsin for many years. Now I believe that the Catholic Memorial shooting guard is reaching his potential. Through six games, McCormick is scoring 15.2 points per game. He also leads his squad in assists with three per contest. Catholic Memorial is a very good team who could make a run this March. If they do advance deep into the tournament, it will likely be thanks in large to McCormick’s efforts.
Will Wensink — G — Muskego
Muskego’s success this season has come as a surprise to many. But for Wensink and his teammates, this success is no accident. Leading Muskego in scoring with 15.9 points per game this year, Wensink has proven himself to be a top talent. The 6-foot-1 guard is phenomenal as a slasher and scorer around the rim. He uses a quick first step to beat his defender off the dribble and then convert at the cup.
Tyran Cook Tyran Cook 6'1" | SG Waukesha South | 2023 State WI — SG — Waukesha South
Waukesha South has gotten off to a bit of a slow start this season. But with Cook on South’s roster, I like this team’s chances at turning things around. The shooting guard is so dynamic with the ball in his hands. I don’t think that there are many players at the high school level who can scorer like Cook. He is a tremendous athlete who pairs skill and raw physical ability. Not too sure why college programs aren’t all over Cook yet.
Will Stuckey Will Stuckey 6'1" | SG Kettle Moraine | 2024 State WI — SG — Kettle Moraine
I like the improvements that Stuckey has made recently. After averaging 6.8 points per game as a sophomore, the shooting guard is now a much more important player for his team. Even if his numbers haven’t improved drastically, I still think that the SG has made great strides. He recently scored 29 points in a close loss to Arrowhead. As a very good three-point shooter, Stuckey keeps the defense honest when he is on the floor.
Logan Arndt Logan Arndt 6'2" | SG Oconomowoc | 2023 State WI — SG — Oconomowoc
After suffering a serious injury, some of Arndt’s momentum was halted. Prior to his injury, I thought that Arndt was developing into a top tier talent. Now that he is back and healthy, I like what I am seeing from the Oconomowoc standout. He has scored the ball at an efficient clip and always has been a great defender. If his team needs a hustle play, Arndt is more than happy to make it.
Dominic Hill Dominic Hill 6'2" | PG Waukesha West | 2023 State WI — PG — Waukesha West
One of the top scorers in the Classic Eight this season has been Waukesha West’s Hill. The point guard is averaging 25.4 points per game so far. With the ball in his hands, Hill is a true threat. He scores well, gets teammates involved, and overall is just a smart player. You rarely see Hill make a bad mistake. I have been blown away by Hill this season and definitely think that he deserves a spot in the next rankings update.
