It was our second opportunity to see the talented Rebels and we also came away impressed with several CV players as they scored a 62-57 comeback victory. Seton also played the game without leading scorer Connor Spratt Connor Spratt 6'3" | PG Seton LaSalle | 2023 State PA , who missed the game with an injury. The game saw good performances from players on both teams, including young guards and bigs who will be back next year.
CV Players To Watch
Jayden Davis Jayden Davis 5'10" | CG Chartiers Valley | 2025 State PA | 5’10” | G| Char Val 2025
Davis is one of the most electric players in the state for his class. Davis showed excellent ballhandling ability and also talent to move the ball in the halfcourt sets. He has a lightning quick first step to the basket and can score at multiple levels. College coaches were in the house and all eyes were on him.
Julian Semplice Julian Semplice 5'11" | CG Chartiers Valley | 2026 State PA | 5’11” | G| Char Val 2026
For a freshman that was only playing his fourth game, you’d never believe that it was Semplice that was the player being mentioned. He showed poise beyond his years leading the Colts comeback, hitting shots, moving the ball and being tough on the press. He’s going to be a key player to watch the next few years. He and Davis could give the Colts WPIAL title potential.
Drew Sleva Drew Sleva 5'10" | PG Chartiers Valley | 2023 State PA | 6’2″| G | Char Val 2023
Sleva has been a known for some time and while he’s now deferring a bit to the younger stars on the team, he still played a role on both ends of the floor and could be a welcome addition to any school in the PAC as a four year guy who grows into a role at the next level.
Seton-LaSalle Players to Watch
Hayden Merchant | 6’5″ | G| Seton 2024
Merchant had a great game last week vs Serra Catholic and followed it up with a masterful performance this evening, exploding for 24 points and leading the line in the absence of Spratt. Merchant showed an ability to get at the rim off the dribble and also find pockets to step back and hit shots to draw defenders away from the rim. He was gassed by the end, but he gave 125% the whole way and Coach Walsh should be confident to know he’s got another scoring option besides Spratt.
Nick Sikorski | 6’4″| F | Seton 2024
Sikorski had another impressive contest at both ends of the floor. The bruising forward battled in the post on both ends of the floor for rebounds, second chance points and also showed good footwork to finish around the rim. With another year to go, he should be on the radar of college coaches.
Miha Milovic | 6’3″ | F | Seton 2023
Milovic had a bit role vs Serra when we were there but was confident for much of the game bringing the ball up with Merchant in the absence of Spratt. He used his big frame to work on the CV guards on the way up the floor and also moved well off the ball on offense. If he continues to have performances like tonight throughout the season, he’s the type of player that PAC or AMCC coaches could see as a late addition to their 2023s.
