Cascia Hall goes into the break with a 5-2 record almost matching the number of wins they had at the end of last season but all signs show that they are far from satisfied with their performance thus far. Cascia Hall has a lot to prove - not only to the other teams and the Oklahoma basketball scene but more to themselves. Coach Mayberry and the team worked tirelessly through the summer and pre-season to ensure a successful 2022-2023 season. The Commandos have 17 regular season games left & if they play collectively and selflessly, this should be a productive and exciting 2023 for Cascia Hall basketball!

Aiden Hicks 2023: Aiden is a team player who facilitates well. He isn't selfish and is willing to push the ball ahead and find his open teammates. He isn't on the court to be fancy - he is on the court to win. Aiden is a strong presence when he is on the floor and he uses his body well to get into position for rebounds. But, one thing about Aiden is that he isn't just a strong rebounder and facilitator - when he sees the defense slacking, he will shoot from deep and make the other team pay for leaving him open.

Mason Shiflet 2023: Mason has played on the Cascia Hall varsity squad since his freshman season and has continued to improve each year. He is an undersized guard that can penetrate through the defense but also shoots the ball well from 3. Mason is effective on the defensive end when up against bigger guards and helps apply pressure in trap situations.

Cross Carter 2023: Cross is a player that I wrote about after Cascia Hall's season opener and he has stayed fairly consistent through the first 7 games of the season. He is cleaning up the boards well for the Commandos and garnering a lot of his points from put backs & quick inside jumpers. Cross just needs to stay out of foul trouble so he can help the team for longer periods of time; once he can do that, he will become a bigger asset for Cascia Hall.

Daniel Jarrett 2024: Daniel is a high motor guard who can flat out go, both offensively and defensively. He sets up the offense well and shows patience when the defense is playing him tight. Daniel sees the floor well and can either find his open teammates or find the gaps in the defense for an easy two. He has a good shot but doesn't seem confident at times when he has the open look; once Daniel becomes more confident in his shot, his overall game should sky rocket. And, if you are on offense, you don't want to be the player that he is guarding because it will be a long and tedious 4 quarters.

Drake Jarrett 2024: Drake is a defensive wizard. He seems to know where the ball will be before the ball handler even knows where he is going with it. Drake, similar to Daniel, is the player that you do not want guarding you; he will 100% make the ball handler overly uncomfortable. Drake separates himself with his defense but this junior knows how to score, too! Drake's strongest asset, though - is how he keeps his team going with his contagious energy!

[player_tooltip player_id='1393777' first='Jyson' last='Kim'] 2025: Jyson has had a decent start to the season showing moments where he can score multiple baskets in a short period of time. He is a shooter who can pull from deep as well as hit you with a quick mid-range jumper. Jyson has been hesitant at times on the offensive end but the second half of the season should look a lot different for this sophomore. He is moving well laterally on defense; using his length to his advantage when trapping the ball in the corners and has worked hard when having to guard the post players down low.

[player_tooltip player_id='1295745' first='Kam' last='Burris'] 2025: Kam is a solid defensive presence for Cascia Hall and works tirelessly - asserting major pressure on the ball, at all times. He runs the floor well in transition and is an effective catch and shoot guard. He has been attacking the basket more and getting to the line more frequently. Kam rebounds well and isn't afraid to get in the mix with the bigger players.

[player_tooltip player_id='1552337' first='Jake' last='Rampey'] 2026: Jake is a freshman coming off the bench for Cascia Hall and getting some solid minutes on the varsity squad. He has a nice touch around the basket - quick jumpers and smooth floaters. Jake isn't just an inside finisher as he can shoot from behind the arc, as well. Jake should make quite an impact for the Commandos in the years to come.
