SubscribeWhen it comes to size at the middle school level you never know what you are going to get but this weekend there was a few bigs that just play at a different level. Impressed with so many. Here is a list of a few bigs that made some major noise this weekend in Arizona.
Trice was one of the best prospects in the country and in that 2028 Class he really has developed. We were able to see that progress. Trice has a big time footwork and he is drop step dunking with ease. He still has some athleticism and strength to develop but in a few years this kid is going to be a beast. Even if he doesn’t grow too much more he will be a solid 4 man. Moves well and he has soft hands and he has a quick first jump. He has learned to keep the ball up away from the smaller defenders. Nice over the left shoulder hook and a nice looking 15-footer.

This kid was an off the radar prospect for us but he made some noise and that first impression had us following him all weekend. Not only did his team go 4-0 but he was a bit time reason they were able to play at such a high level. He was blocking shots and running the floor like a seasoned vet. Camden is a big time threat in the post and he does have a face-up game as well as a back to the basket game. Had numerous AND 1’s and he also knew when to kick it out. This kid has the tools and he can develop into a solid 4 man. A big time ceiling for this kid.

At times Deng was undersized as there were some players that had some height and mass on them. Deng was a player that help his own. The way that he was tracking rebounds was really impressive. What helped him was that he would see a shot go up and he would look for a body and box out. Such an underrated skill and then he was able to jump with those bigs using good timing as he got blocks and stole rebounds ways on both ends of the floor. His team plays out in the perimeter a lot but when he got touches he finished them.

Buy stock NOW! Still raw and this kid is elite. The way he moves without the ball and how he is looking for pockets and just being active on the boards is impressive. Darius is able to use his vision to then make some tough passes to open cutters. Solid big fella that will willingly pass out of the post or off of an offensive rebound to open shooters. This makes his team tough because everyone collapses and he has shooters all over the floor. This kid is going to be a double-double machine. Would not be surprised if he picks up multiple assist as well.
