The three day event, boasted promising talent from both states. In this quick recap, we will take a look at some of the players who impressed the most at the event.
Highly disciplined Sagemont also came out tough in a game against Pebble Brook, demonstrating their ability to play unselfish team ball, with the goal of winning in mind, and nothing else. Maxx Martinez, Devontae Jean Devontae Jean 6'3" | CG Sagemont | 2024 State FL & Tynan Becker Tynan Becker 6'7" | SF Sagemont | 2023 State FL each held their own on the floor, while collectively rallying back from a deficit to successfully beat PB 72 -69.
DeVante Jean
DeVante Jean
Jean’s confidence on the perimeter led the Lions’ charge with 4-3’s and a total tally of 15. He is offensively sound, and able to find his way to his spots well, following his own shots, and resetting when needed.
Maxx Martinez
Maxx Martinez
Martinez’ great shot selection and craftiness around the basket yielded a 20-piece.
A super unselfish player, looks to pass first, before taking well-calculated shot selections. A lot of potential and upside for the play at the next level.
Becker’s intuitive hold on defense and 10-point drop ensured they could hang on for the victory. Big in height, and room to fill out, he shows a lot of promise in the paint, and good defensive IQ on both side of the floor.
Although young, Riviera Prep looked to be in good form with 2025 Dante Allen Dante Allen 6’5″ | SF Riviera Prep | 2025 State #57 Nation FL and 2027 Myles Fuentes Myles Fuentes 6’1″ | CG Riviera Prep | 2027 FL leading the way 11 and 12 points, respectively against Georgia’s Pebble Brook, in a 60 – 55 win for The Prep. Allen is great at using his size in the paint offensively, and defends well from the perimeter to the rim. Already highly touted, and sought after by high-majors, Allen has a lot of room to grow, and the motor to help him get there!
Myles Fuentes Myles Fuentes 6'1" | CG Riviera Prep | 2027 FL
Myles Fuentes Myles Fuentes 6'1" | CG Riviera Prep | 2027 FL
Fuentes has a strong and confident three-point shot. He is also surprisingly scrappy in the paint for an 8th grader, rebounding well and showcasing his ability to get above the rim when necessary. He’s going to be one to watch for the rest of the season, and no-doubt in the coming years!
Adrian Shackleton Adrian Shackleton 6'3" | CG Legacy Early College | 2024 State SC
Adrian Shackleton Adrian Shackleton 6'3" | CG Legacy Early College | 2024 State SC
Pines Charter’s 2024 guard Adrian Shackleton Adrian Shackleton 6’3″ | CG Legacy Early College | 2024 State SC also impressed with his busy motor, and ability to seemingly be wherever he was needed on the floor in a given moment, rebounding well on both ends, and assuredly pulling the long-range three when the shots were there. He’s a natural leader, pacing the game well for his teammates, and is a sneaky defender on the other side of the ball.
Complementary to Shackleton, is #10, 2024 F Josh Harris Josh Harris 6’8″ | SF Pembroke Pines Charter | 2024 State FL . Josh understands the assignment. With a forceful presence in the paint, larger than his stature, he is skilled both under the basket and on the perimeter.rn
Emi Morena
Emi Morena
Emi Moreno show up solid for The Prep, doing all the little things – communicating well, on both sides, boxing out when shots go up, and just playing hard!
Overall a great, well-run event with the only complaint being a gym that insulated the cold from last week’s winter weather, making it difficult for the kids to get warmed up as quickly as they are used to.
