Prep Hoops Wisconsin takes a look at a handful of shooting guards who could be in for breakout seasons:

[player_tooltip player_id='1021594' first='Antwan' last='Burns-Jones'] -- Catholic Memorial

At the recent Wisconsin Top 250 Expo, Burns-Jones showed off plenty of impressive skills. With the ball in his hands, the shooting guard is dangerous in more ways than one. He does a solid job of using his athletic ability to score off the dribble. He finishes well and has a special gift for avoiding contact in the paint. The SG is also a skilled passer who can locate open teammates with ease. College programs should keep an eye on the Catholic Memorial standout.

[player_tooltip player_id='963146' first='Logan' last='Arndt'] -- Oconomowoc

Coming off an ACL injury, Arndt has a lot to prove this season. Prior to his injury, the Oconomowoc shooting guard was one of my favorite prospects to watch in the state. I just loved how Arndt competed. It doesn't matter what the situation is, Arndt always gives it his all. He plays two ways, hustles for loose balls, and makes all of the tough plays necessary for winning. Hopefully, Arndt can return to his previous form this winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='1138442' first='Joe' last='Stewart'] -- Brookfield East

Stewart is a hard-nosed, tough prospect who backs down to nobody. The shooting guard plays hard and impacts winning on both ends of the court. The Brookfield East standout is capable of knocking down big shots on one end of the court and then locking down top scorers on the opposite end. Look out for Stewart to cement himself as an impactful prospect this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1170541' first='A.C.' last='Strok'] -- New Glarus

Strok was able to show off some impressive skills this past AAU season while playing with Wisconsin Academy. The 6-foot-4 shooting guard certainly proved that he has college potential. As a scorer, Strok presents a unique challenge for defenders. He can shoot really well from beyond the arc, finish in the paint, and create opportunities for teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id='981039' first='Gavin' last='Farrell'] -- Verona Area

A tremendous shooter from beyond the arc, Farrell is one of the more underrated prospects in the state. If opposing defenders give the shooting guard an inch of space, there is a good chance that Farrell will throw up a three. The Verona Area standout just knows how to get buckets. He moves well without the ball and always finds a way to get up solid shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='981027' first='Bennett' last='McCormick'] -- Catholic Memorial

An active scorer in many different ways, McCormick is a handful for opposing defenders. As a slasher, the Catholic Memorial star just knows how to get buckets. He does a solid job of using his size to finish amongst taller defenders in the paint. Last high school season, the shooting guard was able to fill up the stat sheet and impress with his intangibles. This year, look for McCormick to catch the eye of some top college programs.
