Continue ReadingGunter was efficient on both sides of the basketball, as the 6-3 shooting guard recorded 23 points, 9 rebounds and 6 steals in a 63-57 win over Lakewood. Gunter currently holds an offer from Keiser University. The athletic guard and the rest of his Northside Christian squad will begin the regular season on Monday vs. IMG Academy Blue at the annual Buckshot O’Brien Shootout hosted by Calvary Christian.
Maxon scored a team-high 25 points including seven made three-pointers in last night’s 68-49 preseason loss to North Broward Prep. Maxon looks to be on the right track as knocking down shots from the perimeter, after he shot 49 percent from deep last year as a freshman. The 6-2 guard will look to play a big role this season for Fort Pierce Central.
The junior guard recorded his first double-double of the season as he finished with 12 points and 10 assists in a 89-55 preseason win over Leto. Cason is ranked near the top of our guard rankings for the junior class. Picked up a recent offer from Florida Gulf Coast a few weeks ago.
Highlights
The 6-0 point guard finished with an early season high 35 points and going 17-for-17 from the free throw line in their preseason win over Sumner last night. Baker has sneaky athleticism and does a really great job with finishing at the rim. The 6-0 combo guard shot 51 percent from the field last season as a sophomore.
Highlights
The James Madison University signee recorded his first of what hopes to be many double-doubles this season. The 6-8 power forward finished with 19 points and 15 rebounds helping lead Westminster Academy to a 75-49 preseason win over Coral Glades. Carey was a double-double machine for Westminster Academy last season, as he averaged 17.7 points and 12.3 rebounds per game as a junior last season. Westminster Academy begins the season next Friday against Mater Lakes Academy.
