Last year we saw 3 of the 8 teams make the District Finals, with Antwerp reaching the State Semifinals. While a state semifinal appearance will be tough to replicate, the talent returning is enough to see someone back in the District round of the tournament.
- Wayne Trace– The Raiders were the GMC champions a year ago and are bringing back nearly everyone from that team. Brooks Laukhaf (Jr) was 1st Team All-District player and is one of the best shooters in NW Ohio. Kyle Stoller (Jr) and Tyler Davis Tyler Davis 6'0" | CG Palmetto | 2025 FL (Sr) return with veteran experience that should help the Raiders greatly. Tyson Gerber (So) is one of the younger players in the conference and will contribute much more this year along with Laukhaf. The Raiders make the best case for a District qualifying team.
- Antwerp– The Archers were in the State Semifinals last year in Division IV and fell short to Tri-Village. This year’s team is going to face problems repeating this feat as they lose one of the best players in program history in Jagger Landers and a great senior leader in Luke Krouse. The good news is Landon Brewer Landon Brewer 6'5" | SG Antwerp | 2024 State OH (Jr) is back and should be a problem for opponents to handle this year. Antwerp is going to force teams to battle with them night in and night out.
- Hicksville– The Aces will be moving up to Division III this year after a 12-7 campaign. While they will miss Jackson Bergman who is gone due to graduation, the return of their next best guys give the Aces an edge to move forward in the conference. Brody Balser (Sr) and Braxztyn Heisler (So) will be leaned on most to give Hicksville a chance to continue competing.
- Ayersville– The Pilots were the District Runner-Ups in Division IV a year ago and will be without their top player from last season. Returning Tyson Schlachter (Sr) is massive and will go a long way for the Pilots to remain in the running in the GMC.
- Paulding– Nick Manz (Sr) will be returning and is going to be the reason why they are competitive during the year.
- Fairview– Not returning enough to challenge at the top of the conference.
- Tinora/Edgerton– Both struggled last year with Tinora beating the Bulldogs last year. Both will struggle this year.
