With the high school season, closely approaching, we want to make sure we identify as many players as possible that are set to have an impact this season. In this article, a follow-up to under-covered Prospects Part 1 we highlight some of our least covered players, that are deserving of attention.
Garcia attended our Prep Hoops Expo back in September, and I’ll get to see more of him when I go up to the Wild West Shootout in December. Versatile guy that should be a vital piece to a 5A North Contender.
Nate Penny Nate Penny 6’1″ | CG Spanish Springs | 2023 State NV can play. He’s coming off a productive season where he averaged nearly 9ppg. The, tough PG is one of the State’s better 3 and D guys, getting over 2 steals, per game while shooting almost 40% from behind the three point line.
A versatile guard that will be counted on to do a little of everything for Arbor View. Jack of all trades type with some grab and go ability.
Coleman is the head of the snake for one of the top 2A schools in the state. He has the ability to create for himself, and his ability to hound opposing ballhandlers makes him one of the top two way guys in the state.
Poole’s play will be a litmus test for Valley. The Vikings have a couple stars with Nakalya Fabello Nakalya Fabello 5’10” | PG Valley | 2023 State NV and Kevan Wilkins Kevan Wilkins 6’4″ | SF Red Rock | 2025 State NV . If Poole can provide them with additional scoring, they become a dangerous squad.
Fischer is a big time paint touch getter, that will be a contributor for Desert Oasis this year.
Hannig should be a problem playing for Lincoln County, the point has the type of speed and athleticim to carve up opponents. He was a productive young player at Meadows, and should deliver more of the same for the Linx.
Richardson is a tough facilator for McQueen. The jitterbug PG averaged nearly 4 assist per game.
My apologies to Mercurius because the baseball star clearly belonged on the top Two – Sport star standout article. His athleticism will be refreshing for a Faith team filled with shooters.
